SENSE

 Sense is an internal meaning of language. In other words, this meaning is determined


by the internal factors of a language, namely the relationship of words to other words
in a language.
 sense according to Edi Subroto (1995: 9) in his book Lexical Semantics should be
understood as the meaning of a word that has a certain nature, for example it is
already contained in the context of certain sentences, or in the context of certain
situations.
EX:
1. They set up a tent at the foot of the hill (the base of the hill)
2. The plane flew over two thousand feet (length/height).
3. The work plan is going well (implemented)

DENOTATION
• The meaning of denotation is the meaning that is in accordance with the results of
observations according to sight, smell, hearing, feeling or other experiences. denotation is
often also referred to as the real meaning.
EX:
1. Budi brewed coffee with hot water
2. The blueberry is very blue.
