As Lourdesians who are encouraged to manifest Catholic faith and share
the teachings of the Church in the community, your task is to build a
GOAL papercraft model church in the Philippines and compose a poem
expressing the goodness that God has blessed in your life.

ROLE You are an architect commissioned by the National Commission for


Culture and Arts (NCCA) to build a papercraft model of a church found
in the Philippines, which will be exhibited in NCCA museum in
celebration of the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines.

The audience of your work will be tourists, clients, administrators of the


AUDIENCE NCCA, family, and friends.

A museum art craft exhibit organized by the NCCA in celebration of the


SITUATION 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines. A gallery walk back into the
history of our Filipino Catholic Heritage and evangelize forward into the
future of preserving our religion.

Guidelines/Procedures:

A. Instructions building the papercraft church model (Arts)


• Print out the template of choice from the NCCA website (special paper)
● Cut all the solid lines and fold the broken lines
● Assemble the paper craft -- if you use the guided template, things will
overlap properly

B. Instructions in creating the sketch plan (Math)

1. You have to sketch a plan of the rectangular platform from 680 cm 2 cardboard,
you can reuse boxes.
2. You have to make sure that the miniature fits well in the rectangular platform. In
creating the sketched plan, consider the following:
a. Floor area of the church
b. Box area should be 680 cm2
c. Base platform dimensions
d. Interpretation of the dimensions
3. In your computation, show:
a. length and width of cardboard that you will use
b. the floor area of the church with length and width
c. the computation of the base platform dimensions, in terms of x

C. Instructions in composing the poem (English)

1. Compose a lyrical poem that describes the beauty of God’s house and express the
goodness and blessings that He has given in your life, family, friends, and community.

2. Your poem needs to include the following:

A. Content: Be guided by these questions:


● How can I express my appreciation on seeing the beauty when I find myself
inside a church (God’s house)?
● What goodness and blessings has God given in my life, family, friends, and
community?
● How can I share my love for God and my Catholic faith to other people in my
community?

B. Form:

● Must have a consistent rhyme scheme all throughout the poem (ex. a-b-a-b,

C. Sensory Imagery Words
