Lab 3B Rainfall Data Acquisition Assignment

Opened: Saturday, 25 September 2021, 12:00 AM

Due: Friday, 4 November 2022, 12:00 AM

Record the rainfall measurements using your rain gauge every 8AM for the next 7 days.
The format of your report should look like this

Lab 3C Areal Precipitation Analysis (arithmetic average)Assignment

Opened: Thursday, 2 September 2021, 12:00 AM

Due: Friday, 11 November 2022, 5:00 PM

Take the 5-day record of at least five (5) of your classmates and plot your location and
their respective locations on Google Earth. Send a kmz file of these points to your
instructor at arise@usm.edu.ph with subject line "kmz precipitation points". Your
instructor, in turn, will delineate a hypothetical watershed and send a revised kmz file to
you.

Using these data and locations, estimate the average areal rainfall depth daily by using
arithmetic average.

You need to attach the following files:

a) A Google Earth image showing the location of the rain gauges considered (inform
your instructor if you cannot access GE image)

b) The rainfall data sheet (in excel or odt) with arithmetic average computation

Lab 4A Design and Construction of Home-made Thermometer

Due: Thursday, 18 November 2021, 5:00 PM
University of Southern Mindanao
Kabacan, Cotabato
COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
BS – Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering

Search the internet for designs of "Home-made Thermometer". Using these designs as
inspiration, construct your own thermometer. Once constructed and operational, you
may take a selfie or a short video. You can use the google drive for your selfie or video
and share me the link at the online text editor

Lab 3D Areal Precipitation Analysis (Thiessen Method)Assignment

Opened: Thursday, 2 September 2021, 12:00 AM

Due: Thursday, 18 November 2021, 5:00 PM

Take the 5-day record of at least five (5) of your classmates and plot their respective
locations on Google Earth including your location. Using these data and locations,
estimate the average areal rainfall depth daily by using Thiessen Method. Your
instructor will delineate a hypothetical watershed and send a kmz file to you.

You need to attach the following files:

a) A Google Earth image showing the location of the rain gauges considered (inform
your instructor if you cannot access GE image)

b) The rainfall data sheet (in excel or odt)

c) The sketch of Thiessen Polygons

d) The Thiessen computation sheets

Lab 3E Areal Precipitation Analysis (Isohyetal Method)Assignment

Opened: Thursday, 2 September 2021, 12:00 AM

Due: Thursday, 25 November 2021, 5:00 PM

Take the 5-day record of at least five (5) of your classmates and plot their respective
locations on Google Earth. Using these data and locations, estimate the average areal
rainfall depth daily by using the Isohyetal Method. Your instructor will delineate a
hypothetical watershed and send a kmz file to you.

Lab 4D Temperature, Humidity, and Evaporation data acquisitions and analysis Assignment

Opened: Friday, 25 September 2020, 12:00 AM

Due: Thursday, 2 December 2021, 5:00 PM

A. Temperature observation

Setup your home-made thermometer near your evaporation pan. For the next 7 days,
observe the temperature on the following hours:

6:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 6:00 PM

Please make a diurnal graph of the temperature throughout the 7 days.
