Important Notes
General: The elevator must be fully installed, commissioned and be ready for acceptance test, with the final car
decoration installed. An installation is considered ready for final acceptance test when valid installation manuals
were continuously applied, all relevant systems and functions are activated and were successfully checked and
all necessary documents are available. The installer must be confident that the inspection can be performed
effectively without rework.
Abbreviations: See K 600400 Symbols used in Formulas for Elevators
Legend
Tests are denoted with a shaded positive acceptance box. These tests must be executed at acceptance inspection.
In case the inspector needs to select one of several options, the selection items will be marked with this symbol. For example:
Option 1
Option 2
... Option n
Test denoted with a white positive acceptance box can be pre-filled by the design office. Moving a test into an earlier phase
must be carefully considered.
It implies that the inspectors are able to recognize a non-product-compliant deviation.
Deviations can lead to a situation where the program specific document no longer applies and the inspector has to use the
generic, non program specific version.
All the tests which are marked with a negative acceptance box must be clearly noted for rework.
If a test marked with a fails, the elevator is not qualified to be put into service.
N/A Not applicable
uid Unique test identification
0 * Introduction
1. The Acceptance Inspection Report only contains the results of the tests performed before the elevator is placed into service. All
tests have to be performed in accordance with approved engineering practice and Lifts Directive 95/16/EC. All testing
instruments have to be in compliance with the approved quality management.
2. Compliance with the Lift Directive is ensured by following the requirements of EN 81-1:1998, EN 81-1:1998/A1:2005 and EN
81-1:1998/A2:2004. The Acceptance Inspection Report does not exclude other solutions, provided the same safety level has been
reached and deviations from EN 81-1:1998, EN 81-1:1998/A1:2005 and EN 81-1:1998/A2:2004 are certified by a registered
Notified Body.
3. Attention shall be paid to differences in the elevator installation due to national regulations not covered by the Lifts Directive
95/16/EC.
4. This Inspector’s Guide is based on the "Schindler Acceptance Inspection Standard” (J 139451) and "Report about
Examinations and Tests on an Installed Electric Lift" (NB-L/013/2000, version 12.2000).
5. The Inspector’s Guide (J 139459) is to be used for training and reference. The Acceptance Inspection Report
(R 139459) is essentially the same document as the Inspector’s Guide but without all of the settings, acceptance criteria and
instructions.
6. The Acceptance Inspection Report should be retained by the authority issuing the Declaration of Conformity in Europe. This is
normally done by Schindler.

10 Inspection Findings
Note: It is possible that items that must be addressed are not part of the contract for the elevator but are
still part of the installation and therefore are the responsibility of third parties.
Are all components connected with the installation for which the manufacturer or 12.1
installer is not directly responsible in a suitable condition to allow operation of the
elevator?
If answer for 12.1 is No, list details:
Have all tests and inspections been carried out to confirm conformity with the relevant 12.2
regulations?
If any question above in this report has been answered with No, give the reason and list
actions taken to achieve conformity (continue on the next pages if necessary):
If No new inspection required (The elevator must not be approved for operation.)
