SUMMARY/NARRATIVES'
Electronic waste or e-waste is one of the emerging problems in developed and
developing countries worldwide. It comprises a multitude of components with valuable
materials, some containing toxic substances, that can have an adverse impact on
human health and the environment. More of these wastes are being dumped in landfills
and recycling facilities, creating a new problem for the environment and
decision-makers alike. Electronic devices generally aim to make our lives easier and
happier, but due to the toxicity they carry, their recycling and disposal constitute a health
hazard.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED:

From what I have read in the article, I realized that as a student and a youth advocate in
our barangay I should be the one on the frontline to assess the youngsters and that we
should be responsible enough to take care of our environment and as well as ourselves.
We must maintain a good balance between consuming the earth's resources and being
wise enough so that the earth could regenerate its vital cycle in nature and we can have
a safe and clean environment.

WHAT SUGGESTIONS CAN YOU OFFER;

I suggest that we should do some recycling because it is the key to reducing E-waste
and it has environmental benefits at every stage in the life cycle of a computer product,
from the raw material from which it is made to its final disposal. Aside from reducing
greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to global warming, recycling also reduces
air and water pollution associated with making new products from raw materials.
