ACTIVITY FOR LESSON 3

Research for a company which engaged in the following ways of entering international
business. Write your answer in 2 – 5 sentences.

1. Merging
 In March 2015 Heinz Company and Kraft Foods Group agreed to a definitive
merger agreement to create the Kraft Heinz Company. The type of merging that
happened is a Horizontal merger because it operates in the same space and the
same good or services. It aimed to increase revenues and profit by bringing some
of Kraft’s big-name products with the help of Heinz’s global reach. The Kraft
Heinz Company became the world’s fifth-largest food and beverage company
and the third-largest in the United States

2. Acquisition
 Jollibee Food Corporation fully owned the Mang Inasal Philippines on
November 201. Mang Inasal caught the attention of JFC because of its fast-
growing business. As of today Mang Inasal continuously growing and making a
name as one of the successful fast food in the Philippines.

3. Joint Ventures
 Samsung and Spotify joint ventures make the user smoothly connect their
devices so that the music never has to stop. In the year 2022 Spotify and
Samsung continue their good communication by expanding their connection.

4. Strategic Alliance
 Starbucks and Target know that they have a similar audience made they put
a Starbucks Café in any Target store. This move helps the target customer to
fuel their hunger and thirsty during a shopping trip.

5. Franchising (International level)


 McDonald’s is continuously expanding overseas. The founder of McDonald’s
wanted to be more than just a supplier to franchisees. Until this year
McDonald’s continue their success in a different country.
