I. LYMPHATIC SYSTEM (20 points)

1. Draw and identify the lymphatic system.
2. Summarize its function and importance in the human body.
 Lymph vessels, which are part of the lymphatic system, are like blood vessels in that they carry
lymph fluid around the body. It collects lymph fluid, which has collected in the tissues and returns it to
the bloodstream after being drained. Tissues and organs of the lymphatic system are responsible for the
production, storage, and distribution of lymphocytes (a kind of white blood cell). Lymphatic and
lymphoid tissues and organs filter out harmful substances and bacteria from the lymph while also keeping
an eye out for pathogens and aberrant cells. The lymphatic system is a key component of the immune
system that helps the body fight off illness. It consists of the tonsils, spleen, thymus, lymph nodes, and
lymph veins. Furthermore, it carries some hormones, minerals, and waste products, and aids in
maintaining blood pressure.

II. BLOOD CIRCULATION (10 points)

- Summarize and explain the heart circulation.

The heart is a muscular organ that continuously pumps oxygen-rich blood to the brain
and limbs and delivers oxygen-depleted blood to the lungs. The heart is a muscular pump that
typically beats between 60 and 100 times each minute. When the heart beats, blood is pumped
throughout the body, delivering oxygen-rich blood to every tissue and organ. The right atrium
receives blood from the body, pumps it into the right ventricle, and then forces it into the
pulmonary arteries. Once the blood has returned to the heart from the lungs with its oxygen load,
it will flow through the pulmonary veins into the left atrium, the left ventricle, and finally the
aorta, delivering oxygenated blood to the tissues throughout the body. This continues to be a
never-ending cycle.
III. LABEL THE PARTS OF THE HUMAN HEART AND GIVE THEIR FUNCTION. (20 points)
