Statement of Purpose

I have always believed that turning a great idea into reality requires a wide range of skills and immense
knowledge in both engineering and management. The most successful technology leaders, like Bill Gates
and Steve Jobs, have deep expertise in both technology and business strategy. Inspired by such great
business leaders, I realized that technology coupled with efficient management is what it takes for an
individual to excel in their life. Since then, I have always wanted to develop both technical and managerial
skills with a strong business sense.

Our networked world generates extraordinary amounts of data that no manual system can ever process. In
the words of Ginni Rometty, "Big Data is the world’s natural resource for the next century," and insight into
this data can transform the way business, government, science, healthcare, and financial decisions are
made. I became aware of the need to learn tools and technologies to extract knowledge from the enormous
amount of data to provide insights that facilitate organizations in making effective decisions and provide
the opportunity to drive innovation. My goal is to gain expertise in examining financial data and use its
findings to help companies make business decisions. Thus, I intend to get a degree in Master of Business
Administration (major in Business Analytics), which will give me the necessary technological foundation.

As a person, I have always been an extrovert and have loved indulging in various extracurricular activities.
I have done my secondary schooling at Urmi School & Hostel, Vadodara, and my higher secondary
schooling at the Convent of Jesus and Mary Girls High School, Vadodara. During my school years, I
was exposed to a variety of opportunities, and I took advantage of the majority of them to maximize my
potential and improve my interpersonal skills. Moreover, various group projects during high school helped
me develop analytical skills and critical thinking. I was praised for making efficient strategies, and that has
helped me gain good leadership qualities. My grandfather was an entrepreneur and often gave me business
insights and taught me to overcome difficulties. My grandfather played a huge role in inspiring and
influencing me, owing to which I decided to major in commerce for my higher education. I have scored
consistently well in my accounting and statistics subjects, which slowly helped me gain interest in the field
of analytics. Mathematics as the core of analytics always haunted me, but eventually, in my late school
days, I gradually worked on and improved my mathematical concepts. I was always fascinated by business
studies; therefore, I suppose it is a natural inclination.

Considering all the inherent qualities and my interest in business studies, I chose a Bachelor of Commerce
in Accounting and Finance from Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), which is the most prestigious
university in Gujarat, as my bachelor's degree. This choice has undoubtedly helped me to stay adhered to
my decision to choose business studies and has motivated me at every stage to finalize going ahead with a
major in analytics in the future. All of the courses I took helped me to develop my ability to not only think
critically about theoretical issues but also to demonstrate their applicability in real-world market contexts
and the role they must play in particular industries.

Apart from the above-mentioned reasons that support my decision to pursue a Master of Business
Administration (major in Business Analytics), which is comparatively new but quite popular among
global MNCs, the demand for Business Analysts, and other roles related to analytics is likely to burgeon in
the coming days. Analytics is a field that has seen large growth, which puts it in the category of rewarding
career options. Additionally, a Master of Business Administration (major in Business Analytics) not
only demands a great command of business skills, but it is a perfect blend of analytical skills, technical
skills, computer skills, creativity and problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and interpersonal and
communication skills—a quality that I look forward to seeing in myself in the future. A Master of
Business Administration (major in Business Analytics) would give me a competitive advantage over
others, not just in terms of lucrative job opportunities but also significantly in terms of personality. It would
allow me to enter a global market where I could choose between being a corporate business analyst and an
international business analyst. A Master of Business Administration (major in Business Analytics) is
just one step that will unite me with the future I have anticipated for myself.

The University of Canada West is located in the city of Vancouver, a perfect place for my surging dreams
and aspirations. Most importantly, the University of Canada West is internationally recognized for its
programs and offers exactly what I am looking for. I researched it and was recognized for its global reach
and effectiveness in helping students gain practical exposure and critical business skills. A Master of
Business Administration (major in Business Analytics) from the University of Canada West would
ensure my lucrative career opportunities and help me withstand the most competitive world. If I am given
the opportunity, I assure you that I will make the best use of it and bring honor to the university.

In conclusion, a program like this would not just help me hone my technical skills but also help me gain the
optimal skills required to be an effective leader. As the saying goes, "It is not just the aptitude but also one's
attitude that determines one's altitude." I am aware that graduate education is not only an exhilarating but
also an arduous path, and I'm setting out on this path with an absolute commitment and a mindset to excel.
I will live up to the high standards set by your college. I am confident that I have the potential and
dedication to be a successful graduate with a Master of Business Administration (major in Business
Analytics). In the next 5–8 years, I want to see myself as self-sufficient and successful. I am eager to learn
new things and acquire more experience, which will help me get ready to work in the corporate sector.

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to express myself.
