With adjectives with two syllables that end in –y or –er (e.g. funny, pretty, clever), we make
the comparative and superlative forms using -er/-est.
With adjectives with three or more syllables (e.g. intelligent, difficult, beautiful), we make
the comparative and superlative forms using more and most.
If the comparison contains the phrases as … as or not as … as, we use the positive, or normal
form of the adjective:

- he’s _____________ (tough: comparative) ______________Chuck Norris.
- he’s ______________ (scary: comparative) ___________ Voldemort.
- he is _____________(fast: comparative) ___________ the speed of light
- he’s ______________________ (dangerous: comparative) _____________ an angry lion.
… All we know is: he’s called THE STIG.
