Several of the desired properties of conventional materials are combined in composites. A composite is comprised of two parts. The first part is a reinforcement which is generally a significant fiber like carbon and the second part is a matrix which can be a resin. The matrix connects the reinforcements, combining the individual advantages of both parts (Kumar et al., 2021). Some of the advantages of the application of airframes are as follows:
1.1. Design flexibility
Conventional materials would make it difficult to attain design alternatives as compared to composites. Item consolidation is possible with composites; a single composite component can substitute a whole arrangement of metal components (Rajak et al., 2019). Every final product, from its smoothness to contours, can be imitated by changing the exterior surface. Composites make up approximately 90% of commercial sailboats, in particular since composite material can be molded into a diverse variety of ship designs. These advantages minimize the wastage of time in the manufacturing procedure and low setup expenses which are otherwise necessary for such operations. Designers become capable to create practically limitless diverse forms with composite materials. They may be molded into the most complicated parts and come in a variety of thicknesses and chemical formulas which further allow for appropriate quality attributes (Xing et al., 2019).
