A pleasant morning to everyone. My name is Jerico D.

Leonidas, I am here to
present a speech on Corruption. Corruption means that any dishonest or immoral
behavior or activities that result in the gain of some powerful organization or
people. Thus, corruption often results in loss to the weaker section of society or
organization. Corruption can take many different forms. Extortion, nepotism,
chauvinism, bribery, patronage, cronyism, etc. Are all examples of this. Corruption
may lead to human and drug trafficking, money laundering, police brutality,
repression of opponents, etc.

People have been fighting corruption or falling victim to it for decades. So,
should we accept it as a fate of life and move on or try to fight it as best we can?
Corruption undermines the credibility of the public sector, undermines trust in
government, and the ability to lead a country to achieve high economic growth
and shared prosperity. This often weakens the impact of providing public services
that affect all citizens, especially the poor. Don't let the wealthy and powerful
receive special privileges, as the great senator Mariam Defensor Santiago urged.
You're absolutely right to be enraged at all of these dishonest politicians. Because
after all our money is used to maintain their expensive lifestyle. As an educated
student, you have a duty to clean up the culture of corruption.

Senator Santiago helps us awaken and educate us to use our rights and votes
to change our country. We can use any platforms like social media such as
Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube for our voices to be heard, to call the
attention of corrupt and greedy politicians, and exploit their corrupt doings. As
Jose Rizal has said, we the youth are the future of this country. We have the right
to speak out, defend the truth, and work to end corruption in our nation. We are
the hope and future of our country. Corruption affects us all, especially the most
vulnerable citizens of our nations. As responsible Filipino, we should halt and
eradicate corruption and it should start with ourselves, any form of corruption
should not be tolerated.
