OBJECTIVES Learning
Competencies: EN4G-IIIg-18 Use adverbs of place in sentences. At the end of the lesson the students
should be able to:  Identify Adverbs of Place used in the sentence.  Apply Adverbs of Place in the
sentence.  Compose/create basic sentence using the Adverbs of Place. II. CONTENT Subject Matter:
Use adverbs of place in sentences. Time/Allotment: 1 hour Materials: Laptop, White Board, Projector,

PROCEDURE A. PRELIMINARIES Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity (Teacher will enter the room)
“Good morning Grade 4- Rizal!” “Let us stand and let’s have our prayer” “Please pick up the pieces of
paper under your chair.” (Checking of attendance) ….say present…. “As we go on to our formal and
very interesting discussion I want you to know first that we have an agreement that should be followed:
1. Sit properly. 2. Listen and participate to the discussion. 3. Raise your right hand if you want to ask
question and clarification. Understand?” “Let’s check your assignment. Pass your assignment note
book in front of your classmate hand by hand. Is that clear?” “Good morning ma’am!” (One student
will lead the prayer) (Students pick up the pieces of paper) (Students raise their hand and say present
as the teacher calls in their name) Yes, Ma’am! Yes, Ma’am!

B. REVIEW Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity “We had already finished discussing about Adverb of
Time. Before we move on to the next topic, let us have a recall of what is Adverb of Time?” Yes Maria?

happened.” “I saw July yesterday.” C. INTRODUCTION MOTIVATION Teacher’s Activity Student’s
Activity “Do you know the game 4 pics 1 word?” (Collaborative Strategy) “Okay we are going to play
this game! Class will be divided in to four; each group will be given an illustration board and chalk.
Choose your group leader and each leader will be the one who will write and raise their answers. “
“Good! Our mechanics for this game is the group who raise first with the correct answer will be given
2 points. One point to those who raise correct answer only and no points to raise with wrong

Adverbs of place tell us where something happens.

Examples:

1. The park keeper drops the shovel on the trolley.

Where the park keeper is drops the shovel?

2. The kids play ball behind the trees.

Where the kids play ball?

“Adverbs of Place are words that tell us where the action is done.

“On the trolley”

“Behind the trees”

3. Matthew and Martin are near the garden.

Where Matthew and Martin are?

4. Bert keeps the ball under the bench.


Where Bert keeps the ball?

(Call a student to give examples of Adverb of Place)

the adverb of place.”
