Process - Design Drawings from the Rijksmuseum 1500-1900

nai010 publishers 2022 ISBN 9789462087354 Acqn 32947
Hb 22x28cm 464pp col ills £63.50

'Process' shows an extensive collection of design drawings, never presented before, of artefacts
from the period 1500-1900 from the Rijksmuseum collection. The design drawings in this
publication are presented from a design perspective. The focus is not so much on the provenance
and attribution of the drawings (as was customary in the case of this type of drawing until now)
but on the function of the drawing within the process of design and maker's practice throughout
the centuries. This innovative categorisation was created after years of research by Professor
Reinier Baarsen, senior curator at the Rijksmuseum, and provides a unique insight into the
context in which the drawings were created.

Lisa Konno - Nobu Baba Henk

Lisa Konno 2022 ISBN 9789090365152 Acqn 32953
Pb 24x17cm 144pp col ills £35.50

The book NOBU BABA HENK combines the process and stories of the film trilogy by writer and
director Sarah Blok and fashion designer Lisa Konno. In their films on migrant fathers they found
common ground in their love for stories, told in a lighthearted tone, yet doing justice to their
complex and socially involved subjects. NOBU, BABA and HENK let them into their homes and
hearts and taught them about human resilience, showed them the beauty and challenges of
navigating two worlds and raised the question what culture actually is. In this concluding book
each film gets introduced with reference images, design sketches and text fragments of film
scripts, before showing the finished films through subtitled filmstills. All carefully selected and
designed by Marius Schwarz.

selection of Serving Library bulletins as starting points, participants juggled between French and
English from different locations. They then produced their own bulletins, which are assembled in

Pb 17x24cm 144pp col ills £38.95

Excellent design spreads over the world and has the power to reach a wide range of people. In
some cases, it has more influence than text and art, promoting meaningful communication by
bridging borders and language. From this belief, Japanese designer Satoshi Itasaka launched the
Tokyo-based design label h220430 in 2010. He has since produced a wide variety of products
and objects, from lighting and furniture to solutions for Covid-19 restrictions in public space. He
treats design as a crucial method for solving many of today's societal problems, from
environmental issues to disparities in wealth. More than a decade of his label's work is presented
in this book.

Italian Scraps 2
Corraini Edizioni 2022 ISBN 9791254930175 Acqn 32992
Hb 17x24cm 328pp col ills £60.25

A new culinary adventure from North to South, once again on the theme of "Italian Scraps".
Valentina Raffaelli and Luca Boscardin take us on a journey that explores Italy through its recipes
and typical products, this time focusing on what is produced by the land: herbs and vegetables.
After the first Italian Scraps - dedicated to offal and what are commonly (anderroneously)
considered meat scraps - this exploration enters the field of agriculture, looking at the current
production and distribution system, again prompting us to ask questions: do vegetables really
need to 'look good' in order to 'taste good'? How much food do we waste? And how many
products do we not even consider? Italian Scraps 2 is a cookbook that discusses sustainability,
where each recipe seems to remind us that Italy is a giant vegetable garden, and that all you
need to do is forage street markets and local produce to discover an immense wealth at your
fingertips.

Destroyers/Builders - Rooted Flows

Nero 2022 ISBN 9788880561637 Acqn 32982
Pb 17x24cm 128pp col ills £19.25

The work of Destroyers/Builders, utterly contemporary but with stylistic references that in some
cases derive from a modernist imaginary, is driven by observation of human interactions with
inhabitable spaces, and by a critical-formal interpretation of the ideal-typical geometry of making
architecture. Illustrated by a photographic series, the book presents the results of Tangelder's
creative thought through some selected projects; written by Barbara Brondi & Marco Raino, the
volume recounts the experience of the Design Residency inspired by the theme "Rooted Flows".
