Specific purpose: The purpose of this speech is to describe the life of the gifted wizard apprentice, Harry

Potter, and to describe his home, Hogwarts.

The Boy Who Lived

“You are a wizard, Harry.” That particular sentence drastically altered an eleven-years-old Harry
Potter’s life. The little boy's very long front jet black hair, which concealed his lightning-shaped scar on
the top right of his otherwise flawless forehead, was startled by the unexpected news. His round glasses
covered his bright green eyes, which gleamed with disbelief. His fair skin turned pale as a result of the
fact that an entire alien population existed on the planet where he was living. His body was tiny and
slender, and he had serious doubts about his ability to live in the new, harsh world. When he established
himself as an eligible wizard, his insecurities vanished. He became a brilliant wizard as a result of his
strong magical abilities combined with his personal qualities. Harry values his friendship with Hermione
and Ron, his two closest friends, very much. He is so eager to defend his comrades that he would rather
die for them. This young, gifted genius is also very passionate about sports. He had just started his first
year at Hogwarts when he was chosen to be a "seeker" on the Quidditch team, where his goal is to help
his team win by catching the Snitch, a tiny, extremely fast ball with wings. With the exception of a few
unexpected incidents, he always manages to catch the Snitch.

The adventurous life of Harry started when he first walked in the Great Hall.

Feeling oddly as though his legs had turned to lead, Harry got into line behind a boy with sandy hair,
with Ron behind him, and they walked out of the chamber, back across the hall and through a pair of
double doors into the Great Hall.

Harry had never even imagined such a strange and splendid place. It was lit by thousands and thousands
of candles which were floating in midair over four long tables, where the rest of the students were
sitting. These tables were laid with glittering golden plates and goblets. At the top of the hall was
another long table where the teachers were sitting. Professor McGonagall led the first-years up here so
that they came to a half in a line facing the other students, with the teachers behind them. The
hundreds of faces staring at them looked like pale lanterns in the flickering candlelight. Dotted here and
there around the students, the ghosts shone misty silver. Mainly to avoid all the staring eyes, Harry
looked upwards and saw a velvety black ceiling dotted with stars. He heard Hermione whisper, "It's
bewitched to look like the sky outside, I read it in Hogwarts: A History."

It was hard to believe there was a ceiling there at all, and that the Great Hall didn't simply open on to
the heavens.

Harry quickly looked down again as Professor McGonagall silently placed a four-legged stool in front of
the first-years. On top of the stool she put a pointed wizard's hat. This hat was patched and frayed and
extremely dirty. Aunt Petunia wouldn't have let it in the house.

If you are wondering what is Hogwarts, let me tell what is it. Hogwarts is a wondrous, magical
building with many towers and turrets. It is home to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where
Harry Potter lives and study. I find Hogwarts location, its castle, the grounds, and Quidditch fascinating.
Hogwarts is built in a forested area said to be in Scotland. The castle is located atop a cliff overlooking a
lake. The castle's front entrance faces west and the lake is to the castle's south. Below the castle at the
base of the cliff, there is a little underground inlet with a stony beach accessible through an opening
concealed by hanging ivy. A path ascends from there to the castle's main entrance. These places were all
part of Harry’s adventures while he was still learning to be a wizard.

Young Harry understands that there is no such thing as a perfect person in our world. Despite
having amazing wizardry skills, he frequently ended up in deadly situations because of his irascible
behavior. Thankfully, luck was on his side that he managed to escape all the dangers. Harry Potter's lack
of judgment is his other catastrophic weakness. He was so intent on seeking revenge on Lord
Voldemort, the person who killed his parents, that he forgot about his safety. When he was only a young
wizardr, he dared to confront Lord Voldemort alone and nearly got himself killed. Even with all of his
careless behavior, he proved to be the chosen one in the end when he was able to defeat Voldemort in
the struggle between good and evil. All his admirable qualities really complement his tragic flaws,
producing a full-fledged warlock.

These books are fantastic, whether the protagonist is engaged in a battle for his life, succeeding
in a quidditch tournament, or simply avoiding danger. This, in my opinion, is one of the key reasons why
these books have been so successful; the author is great at keeping the story moving forward at all
times in order to keep the reader's interest. The reader's desire to live in Rowling's fantastical world,
where life is anything but mundane, as they read has also contributed to the success of the book, in my
opinion.
