NARRATIVE

REPORT
Last 18th of November 2022, the students of Dominican School of Calabanga,
STEM class conducted a Laboratory Visitation at College of Veterinary Medicine located in
the municipality of Pili, Camarines Sur. The said Laboratory visitation has the intention to
furthermore widen and broaden the knowledge of the STEM students. The other intention is
to show the STEM students about the different facilities used by the University in conducting
instruments and the different apparatuses used in the experiments.

The Laboratory Visitation was spearheaded by the General Biology 1 teacher,


Sir Jerick Alvarez Ong with the support of the Dominican School of Calabanga directress, Sr.
Mary Jane H. Savarez, OP. The STEM students and their teacher, Sir Jerick Alvarez Ong,
rented a jeepney that is owned by a fellow classmate and together, they went to Central Bicol
State University of Agriculture, College of Veterinary Medicine that was located in Pili,
Camarines Sur.

The students arrived at the institute between 9:30 am to 10:00 am and was
welcome warmly and wholeheartedly by the school instructor, Dr. Marianne B. Baldonado
and the lovely dog named Brittney. The school Dean, Ilene Basitan-Mirabeles, wasn’t
available that time because she had important meetings to attend. So, the school instructor
together with the other teacher available in the campus showed us the different facilities they
use in conducting an experiment and the different instruments they use. They introduced to us
the CBSUA-CVM and explained to us the different college courses they offer and the
requirements of each course to graduate. They even showed us and explained to us the
different parts of a compound microscope and taught us how to use it by giving us different
specimens to observe into the microscope.

Towards the end of the tour, they showed us the vet where they showed us how
the rooms where they perform surgery on animals. They explained to us the different
apparatuses they use there. After we finished touring, The school instructor and the other
teachers said farewell to us and vice versa and thanked them for the opportunity of being the
first school to be able to tour around their campus. We soon prepared to head back to
Dominican School of Calabanga to take the exams for the subjects that was scheduled on the
2nd Day of examinations.
