5. What are renewable energy sources? Give three examples of these
sources
A) The rapid depletion of conventional energy resources has prompted
people to concentrate on finding and tapping some non-conventional
energy resources that may last for long. These energy resources are called
renewable energy sources. The three examples of these resources are
solar energy, wind power, hydropower etc.
6. Explain the role of technology in the conservation of resources.
A) Energy can be conserved by reducing wastage and losses, improvement
in efficiency by technological upgradation and improved operation and
maintenance. With the development of new technologies, more and more
industrial wastes are being recycled for reuse. In this way we can
conserve the resources.
