Alright, thank you Ms.

Clariz
Good Morning everyone, I am Bunny Boy Salas and
We are now on the second episode of Motivational and Affective Factors
Which is all about Intrinsic Motivation to learn.

NEXT SLIDE

Motivation is the experience of wanting something, or wanting to avoid it. When we

study how we get motivated to learn, develop, and succeed, we can identify two contrary
forces: extrinsic and intrinsic ones

Let’s say you are studying something… be it for a homework, a quiz, an exam, etc.

NEXT SLIDE

Depending on your reasons for studying it…

You are either intrinsically or extrinsically motivated

NEXT SLIDE

Are you motivated by a reward? That is extrinsic motivation

Or you are studying because you like the topic? That is intrinsic motivation

NEXT SLIDE

Are you studying just to avoid a punishment? Then that’s an extrinsic motivation
Or you are studying because you are inspired? If yes then you are intrinsically motivated.

NEXT SLIDE

Pero is it possible ba to be motivated intrinsically and extrinsically?

Yes, of course sometimes you may be motivated by both at once
U can be motivated intrinsically at the same time you are extrinsically motivated as well.

NEXT SLIDE

Let’s now differentiate these two types of motivation.
