Research & Publication Ph. D. Awarded Mr. Vinit Jain, Mr. K. P. Modi, Ms. Shital Panchal, Ms. Charmy Shah and Librarian Mr. B. J. Modi had been awarded Ph. D. Degree by Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan. Ph.D. Thesis submitted Mr. M.R. Patel and Mr. K.R. Patel had submitted their Ph. D. thesis. Ph.D. synopsis submitted Mr. A. S. Bhargav had submitted synposis. Ph. D. Ongoing Mr. A. R. Patel, Mr. L. M. Prajapati, Mr. M. S. Patel, Mr. S. S. Patel, Mr. D. M. Patel, Mr. K. R. Patel, Mr. A. A. Patel, Ms. D. R. Patel, Mr. D.D. Prajapati, Ms. D. A. Israni and Ms. R. S. Patel are continuing their Ph. D. Governing Council Meeting Dr. A.N. Shah, Dr. M.M. Patel, Dr. M.C. Gohel, Dr. N.J. Patel and Dr. N.M. Patel with all assistant professor meet on 21 st January 2009 on the discussion of governing council topics including preparing for accreditation. Papers Published International (4) Four research papers was published in International journals by Dr. N. M. Patel. One research paper was published in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin by Dr. K. P. Modi. One research paper was published in Iranian Journal of Pharmacology and Therapeutics by Dr. K. P. Modi. One research paper was published in Bangladesh Journal of Pharmacology by Mr. D. D. Prajapati.

Fifteen research papers was published in Indian journals by Dr. N. M. Patel. Five research papers were published by Mr. Sanjay S. Patel in various national journals. One research paper was published in Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences by Dr. N. J. Shah. And had received certificate of merit of the Dr. P.D. Sethi research paper award 2007. Three research papers were published by Dr. V. P. Patel in National journals One research papers was published in Indian journals by Dr. P. B. Shah. One research paper was published in Journal of Pharmacy Research by Mr. D. D. Prajapati. One research papers was published in Indian Drugs by Mr. M. S. Patel. One research papers was published in Indian Drugs by Dr. M. M. Soniwala. Research papers presented International (1) Mr. A. R. Patel presented a paper in 35th FACSS, Reno held at NV, USA during September 28- November 02, 2008. National (21) Six research papers were presented by Under Graduate student at C. U. Shah Pharmacy College, Wadhwan on GUJCOST sponsored paper presentation programme 28 th September 2008. Mr. Harsh Kothari won FIRST prize in poster presentation.. Dr. P. M. Patel, Dr. V. P. Patel and Mr. D. D. Prajapati were presented research papers at 60th IPC, Delhi, December 12-14, 2008. Mr. K. P. Modi presented a paper in International conference on translational Pharmacology and 41 st annual conference of Indian Pharmacological Society at AIIMS, New Delhi, December, 18-20, 2008. Eleven research papers were presented by Under Graduate student at Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy College, Mehsana, in GUJCOST sponsored paper Presentation Competition from January 08-09, 2009. Ms. Ashita Nair won first prize. Seminars/Conferences/Workshops attended Teaching Staff Dr. P. M. Patel, Dr. V. P. Patel, Mr. D. D. Prajapati and Ms. D. A. Israni attended 60th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress at Delhi on December 12-14, 2008. 4

Dr K. P. Modi attended International Conference of Translational Pharmacology and 41 st Annual Conference of IPS at AIIMS, New Delhi on December 18-20, 2008. Dr. N. J. Shah and Dr. K. P. Modi attended two days seminar on Vocational Training and Skill Development sponsored by AICTE at New Delhi on December 17-18, 2008. Lab Assistant Mr. Sandip Shah had cleared CCC exam with 69 % in June 2008. Librarian Dr. B. J. Modi attended two National and one international seminar held at Vallabh Vidyanagar, Ahmedabad during February- March 2008. He also attended refresher course in library and information science held at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad during Sept 1-21, 2008. Nomination at various bodies Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad had recognised Dr. N. M. Patel as a Ph. D. Guide. Dr. N.M. Patel had worked as member of governing council of Kalol institute of pharmacy, Kalol and member of expert committee in post graduate adhoc board in Saurashra University. Dr. N. M. Patel had worked as Dean, Pharmacy Faculty and Member of Executive Council, Finance committee, BUTR, Board of studies and Academic Council of HNGU. He has worked as a Member of Monitoring Committee for Pharmacy College affiliated by HNGU, Patan. He has worked as a Vice President for APTI, Gujarat State branch. He had also selected in National Advisory Body in Indian Society Of Pharmacognosy. Dr. N. J. Shah has been appointed as a Member of Academic Council in Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (2008-09). Guest Lectures/ Seminars/ Conferences organised in the institution Guest Lectures Mr. Ashish Mishra of Nobel Foreign Education Consultant on October 17, 2008 on GMAT and TOFEL

Dr. K. Subramanyam from ICRI Mumbai had delivered a guest lecture on Clinical Research in India and its opportunity on 19/9/2008. Guest lectures have been taken from Gen-next Total Eduction Solution, Carrier Line and Planet Education. Seminar/QIP/ Conferences Mr. Dipak Jani, Manager, Dena Bank, Modasa gave information on Student loans. Organize First annual convention of Indian Society of Pharmacognosy, Gujarat state branch on October 19, 2008. Participant from various colleges had attended the symposia. Dr. R. K. Goyal, Dr. S. H. Mishra, Dr. K. N. Patel and Dr. A. K. Saluja delivered informative lectures on ISP seminar on October19, 2008. Placement activity The placement cell has been developed to strengthen the placement of the passing students of the college. The Placement brochure 2008 was prepared and sent to leading pharmaceutical industries. Job fair was arranged on 26-92008 at college premises. Industries like Elililly, Exotic Laoratories and Mercury Laboratories have participated for job fair. Alumni Association Alumni had sponsored four silver medals to the ranker students in each class. GATE RESULTS Nine students had qualified in GATE examination 2008. Mr. Neel D. Shah of fourth B. Pharm, was topper in the college, has secured 132 All India Rank. Mr. Alpesh R. Patel of fourth B. Pharm stood second in the college and secured 432 All India Rank. GRE AND TOEFL RESULTS GRE, TOFEL and IELTS have been cleared by 17, 11 and 4 students of fourth B. Pharm respectively.

Library Our library has more than 4,200 books which cost around Rs. 23,00,000/-. Eighty one journals including 6 international and 5 E-Journals are subscribed having subscription Rs.1,25,498/- The library is modernised with SOUL software and barcode system has been introduced. Extra curricular activities Ms. Ashita Nair won second prize in elocution competition on Pharma Vision 2020 on September 24, 2008 at Saffrony college of Pharmacy, Mehsana. Four students were participated in this competition. National Pharmacy Week, Quiz competition amongst student of Pharmacy College was arranged on 19/11/2008. Twelve students have participated in four team; Sun Pharma, Cipla, Zydus & Dr. Reddy. Winner Mr. Tausef, Mr. Nishit Doshi and Ms. Ashita Nair team was Dr. Reddy. Poster competition was organized on 21/11/2008 in college premises. Twenty students have participated poster competition. Winner team was Nilam Solanki and Preety Patel. A Pharma Rally was organized on 22/11/2008 on the valedictory day of NPW. Three hundred students of Diploma, Degree and Post Graduate have joined the rally. Rally was green flagged by Mr. Mysorewala, Dy. S. P., Sabarkantha, Modasa. Rally has passed through the prominent places of modasa. NSS activities NSS camp was held at Village Moti Isrol , Ta.- Modasa from 23 November to 2 nd December 2008. Sixty students had participated in this Camp. The Camp was inaugurated by Dr. A.N. Shah (The President M. L. Gandhi Higher education society, Modasa). Activities like AIDS vigilance, Medical Camp, Blood Group testing, Haemoglobin estimation, Cleaning, Data collection, Women awareness were undertaken. The camp was concluded in the presence of honoured guests like Mr. Kanubhai R. Patel (E.C. member HNGU) NSS Shibir was coordinated by Dr. Piyush M. Patel. NSS unit celebrate Sadbhavna Day on 20 th August 2008 on the day of Rajiv Gandhi birthday. NSS unit celebrate NSS Day on 5 th Sepetember 2008. NSS unit organise Plantation by Dr. A.N. Shah and Dr. N.M. Patel on 19 th august 2008. 7

Sport Activity Sports week was organized from September 14 -19, 2008. All the students of college have been participated actively in various indoor and out door games. This was organized by Dr. M. M. Soniwala and Mr. M. R. Patel. College cricket team were participated in Cricket competition organized by HNGU, Patan Ms. Priti Patel, Ms. Bhumi Patel, Mr. Riken Patel and Mr. Jaykishan Lohana were selected for badminton competition at State Level tournament organised by HNGU. Mr. Zinal Patel and Mohan Tauseef participated Badminton Inter college competition organized by Commerce College. Ms. Bhoomi Patel and Ms. Dhara Patel participated in Badmington single and doubles inter college competition The IPC tour for Third B. Pharm was arranged on December 10-20, 2008 at New Delhi. The Picnic for final B. Pharm students was arranged on December 18, 2008 at Mount-Abu. All the students had a grand celebration on the auspicious occasion of Sharad Poornima on October 14, 2008 in our traditional Gujarati Ras Garba.
