STANNAG Classification of Incident Aircraft Accident As per STANNAG **** an Aircraft Ground Incident is classed as:
Aim To mobilise fire fighting crews and equipment to the scene of an aircraft accident on, or in the vicinity of the airport.
Procedure The following procedures are not exhaustive, considerations must be given to the fact that no two Incidents are alike, and that a certain degree of Initiative must be taken by the Shift leader / On Scene Commander when and where required. 1. When ATC call an "ALL STATIONS", it will be immediately followed by the message from ATC with the emergency details. A full turnout of KAIA FD Crews and Appliances will be made to Aircraft accidents within the Airports Boundary, and further afield at the discretion of Commander of KAIA (Comm KAIA) in conjunction with Force Protection (FP). Calls to an Aircraft Accident will normally be received from the duty Air Traf ic f Controller. When however: -

. Check that all ehicles and ersonnel, ho are in attendance are deployed in the optimum positions and orking effecti ely 4. Check that the correct media is eing used, and that media is not eing asted. 5. Ensure that passengers and crew who have evacuated from the aircraft are removed from the immediate vicinity to a place of safety, preferably upwind of the situation.
. Ensure that all personnel evacuating from the aircraft are given assistance to do so. . Transportation for these passengers away from the incident to a place of safety and security 4. Check that all available exits are in use, and where appropriate Escape chutes and slides have been deployed. te here chutes and slides have not deployed or have failed, and at areas such as mainplanes where they may not be provided, consideration must be given to the provision of ladders, lighting, cu tting and lifting equipment etc. , to assist the evacuation.
The Shift eader / n Scene Commander must also prioritise the necessary actions in accordance with the prevailing conditions and resources available. The Shift eader / message. n -Scene Commander will be responsible for the issue of the STOP
The Shift eader / On-Scene Commander will then relay the stop message to ATC. This should be given at the earliest opport unity as All Stations All S tations from On-Scene Commander, Emergency terminated, revert back to normal operations". Repeat message.
