List all the 8 disadvantages of online shopping (based on the video) and supply the gist to each of them.

1. Time delay – There is always a time in receiving your purchase while you wait for it to be delievered.
2. Products problems – There may be potential problems with the seller when you buy online.
3. Pricing – Retailers can also use methods regarding the pricing of products that many buyers can find
underhand.
4. Delivery – You can have problems with delivery when ordering a product online. (Either it arrives broken, ot
it doesn’t arrive at all.)
5. It’s impersonal – There is very little scope for building any sort of rapport with the seller when you go to buy
a product online.
6. It’s too easy – There are all sorts of potential psychological and emotional problems associated with the case
with which people can buy online.
7. Fraud – Fraud and identity theft are a consant threat when buying over the internet.
8. No contact with products – You can’t try out the product in advance, when you buy online.

Advantages of CASH

 It’s fast. Banknotes and coins settle a payment instantly.

 It’s secure. Cash has proven to be secure in terms of cybercrime, fraud and counterfeiting.

 It helps you keep track of your expenses. Cash allows you to keep closer control of your spending, for example by

preventing you from overspending.

 It’s legal tender. Creditors, such as shops and restaurants, cannot refuse cash
Disadvantages of CASH

- It needs more space in your wallet and can be inconvenient when your wallet is full of coins or change
- YOU CAN’T PAY FOR ONLINE PURCHASES WITH CASH
Online shopping is 100 percent reliant on credit cards, debit cards and other payment-transfer services that are Internet based.
- IT’S MORE DIFFICULT TO TRACK YOUR EXPENSES WITH CASH
One of the most important things in budgeting is to track your expenses, so you can see where your money is going and to have a
record of your purchases.

Advantages of a Debit Card

 Easy to obtain. Once you open an account most institutions will issue you a debit card upon
request.
 Convenience. Purchases can be made using a contactless or chip-enabled terminal or by swiping
the card rather than filling out a paper check.
 Safety. You don't have to carry cash or a checkbook.
 Readily accepted. When out of town (or out of the country), debit cards are usually widely
accepted (to not have an interruption in service, make sure to tell your financial institution you’re leaving
your city).

Disadvantages of a Debit Card

 No grace period. Unlike a credit card, a debit card uses funds directly from your checking
account. A credit card allows you to borrow funds on credit, leaving disposable cash in your account.
 Check book balancing. Balancing your account may be difficult unless you record every debit
card transaction.
 Potential fraud. Most financial institutions will try and protect their customer from debit card
fraud. However, a customer could potentially be liable for a portion of fraudulent debit card transactions.
Be sure to check with your financial institution to learn the details.
 Fees. Using your debit card for ATM transactions may be costly if the ATM is not affiliated with
your institution.
