On 12 December 2022, at approximately 10:27 a.m., Des Moines Police Department patrol officers
responded to the 1600 block of E. Glenwood Drive to conduct a requested welfare check on two
persons who reside in a home there.

Responding patrol officers located a deceased person within the home.

Des Moines Police Department detectives are investigating this incident. The Des Moines Police
Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit is assisting.

The 1600 block of E. Glenwood Dr. is temporarily closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Attached
is a map of the closed area.

The Public Information Officer will be available at the west end of the road closure at 3:30 p.m.

UPDATE: 9:10 p.m., 12 December 2022

The person found deceased within this home is an adult female.

Des Moines Police Department detectives are investigating this incident as a homicide.

This is the 18th homicide of 2022.

There is no indication of any ongoing threat to the neighborhood.

The person killed in this incident is 51-year-old Des Moines resident Natasha Lue Jean Williams.
Attached is a photograph provided by her family.
