Installation

Installation
At this point, you have already installed the DTIC software download from the SAP portal. Next, you
can start DTIC. See "Start-Up".

NOTE: If an older version of DTIC is installed on your computer, you do not need to uninstall or
delete it. However, it is strongly recommended that you use DTICv6.0 for all future changes.
If you have any issues regarding the installation of DTIC technical support is available at:
fieldservice@raymondcorp.com

Start-Up
From your desktop, double click the DTIC.EXE icon, which opens the program and begins the
initialization process.

Initialization
After DTIC starts, it automatically attempts to establish a communication link with the following:
• Vehicle Manager on EASi2 orderpickers and reach trucks or the VFC on EASif Reach trucks
• Carriage Manager on the EASi2 or EASi Swing-Reach® truck or the Carriage Control Card on
an EASi orderpicker

NOTE: These are referred to as the "truck computer" for the remainder of this document.
If the link is successful, the PC contactor is de-energized (prevents truck movement) and the main
screen appears. The Connection Status at the bottom of the main screen displays the word
"ONLINE."

NOTE: If communications are properly established, the Start-up communications error time-out
screen does not appear.

Publication: PDSS-0066B, Issued: 1 August 2016 13

Initialization

An example of the DTIC main screen appears below. This is only an example screen. The
information that appears on the screen varies from truck to truck.

The left side of the main screen contains basic information for the connected truck. The information
in this area varies from truck to truck. The right side of the screen contains the options available
and that are enabled on the truck.

Actions Tab

Actions Tab
Under the Actions tab is a list of options available in DTIC. The data on the screen is read-only
except for the Actions tab. Select this tab at the top of the main screen to open the drop-down list
with all the available features of DTIC.

Select “Actions” from the menu bar at the top of the screen. The options below appear in the
drop-down list:
• "Change Truck Options" on page 15 - Requires a passkey, which is provided by Raymond
Syracuse Parts Division.
• "Initialize Default Parameters" on page 17 - Resets the truck's superword and password back
to their original defaults.
• "Clear Primary Memory" on page 18 Erases the memory stored on the device containing the
primary memory.
• "Help" on page 20 - Includes basic DTIC information and troubleshooting.

Change Truck Options

To add a truck option, contact the Syracuse Parts Distribution Center. A proper S-207 passkey for
the option must be processed by Syracuse. The new passkey might be part of the S-207 when the
paperwork is returned to the Dealer. If not, then the passkey must be obtained by phone, fax, or
mail. The Syracuse Parts Distribution Center generates all new passkeys. Each truck produced
requires a unique code. See "Add a Passkey" on page 16 for more information on passkeys.
To change an option,
1. Select the “Actions” tab.

2. Select “Change Truck Options.”

3. Type the number provided by Syracuse into the Enter Passkey field. Without a new passkey,
the option will not be enabled on the truck.

Publication: PDSS-0066B, Issued: 1 August 2016 15

Add a Passkey

Add a Passkey
Follow the steps to enter a new passkey:
1. Select the “Actions” tab.
2. Select Change Truck Options. The Enter Passkey text appears and the cursor blinks to indicate
that you can start typing the new passkey.

3. Type the new passkey into the “Enter Passkey” field.

Only the passkey characters need to be typed. The dashes are entered automatically.
Characters 0-9 and A-F are valid characters; no other characters are allowed.
Enter the passkey exactly as received from the Parts Distribution Center. It will be either a 28-
or 42-character passkey. The number of characters in the passkey is based on the truck
model.
Tip:
Copy and paste the passkey into the “Enter Passkey” field.
4. Once you have entered the entire passkey, DTIC automatically sends the passkey to the truck.
You will either receive a success or failure message. If you do not see any confirmation/error
message, verify that you have copied and pasted the entire passkey. If the passkey is accepted
by the truck, then the following message appears:

5. Select “OK.” DTIC closes automatically.

If the passkey is entered incorrectly, or is not the correct passkey for that vehicle, then the
following message appears.

6. Select “OK.” Reverify and then retype the passkey, or contact Field Service.
7. Select the red X in the upper right corner of the message window at any point to exit the entry
process.

Initialize Default Parameters

This function sends a command to the truck's computer to reset the Vehicle Function Controller
(VFC) to the factory default superword and password. Hour Meters, Options and Mileage are not
affected. The VFC parameters can also be set using the "Configure" mode on the truck. The factory
default parameters are listed in the appropriate maintenance manuals.
1. Select “Actions” on the main screen.
2. Select “Initialize Default Parameters.”

The message below appears after the truck's computer is successfully initialized to the factory
default values.

3. Select “OK.” DTIC closes automatically.

Publication: PDSS-0066B, Issued: 1 August 2016 17

Dealer/Technician intellidrive® Control System Configuration Program

Clear Primary Memory

4. If the factory default parameters did not reset successfully, then the message below appears.
Contact Field Service.

5. Select “OK.”

Clear Primary Memory

The Clear Primary Memory feature removes the "identity" from the primary memory control card.
This is necessary to reuse the board in a different truck.

After the Control Card has been cleared, it cannot be reprogrammed by DTIC.

If this option does not appear in the drop-down list, then it is not available for that particular truck.
The table below indicates which model trucks have what Primary Memory:

Model # Primary Memory Location

150-160 (S/N 5000 and Up) Operator Display
31 (S/N 16806 and Up) Operator Display
DSS300/DSS350 Operator Display
EASi™ Reach Operator Display
(EZ,ES,DS,4D,ET,DT,ETB)
EASi Orderpicker Carriage Control Card
EASi Swing-Reach® Carriage Manager

Follow the steps to use the Clear Primary Memory option:

1. Turn the key switch to OFF.
2. Remove the Primary Memory card from the truck. Install the card to be cleared.
3. Connect the PC to the truck. Turn on the truck then the PC.
4. Select “Actions” at the top of the DTIC main screen to open the drop-down list.

Clear Primary Memory

5. Select "Clear Primary Memory." The following warning message appears:

NOTE: Pay attention to the messages that appear on the screen. They include important
information as to what to do next.
6. Select “Yes” to clear the memory from the card installed in the truck. If the memory is
cleared successfully, the following message appears:

7. Select “OK.” DTIC closes automatically. Power down the truck and then remove the
cleared Primary Memory card.

Publication: PDSS-0066B, Issued: 1 August 2016 19

Dealer/Technician intellidrive® Control System Configuration Program

Help

If the memory does not clear then the message below appears:

Contact Field Service.

8. Select “OK.”.

NOTE: If you exit before powering down the truck, then the truck performs a "self- healing" memory
check. In most trucks, this restores the memory to the card from secondary memory
storage. The clear state of the card is then lost.
9. Install the original Primary Memory card into the truck. Apply power to the truck.
10. Test the truck for proper operation.
11. The "cleared" Primary Memory is ready for use in other trucks.

Help
Select the Help option to open a PDF file to learn about DTIC, and to review troubleshooting
information.

If the Help PDF file is open then the Command Status below the Truck Options area reads “PDF has
been opened.”

NOTE: The Help files only opens if a PDF reader is installed on your PC.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting
Start Up Errors
The truck's computer expects communications of some sort from DTIC. Messages must continually
be sent to the truck computer within two minutes. This insures that proper communications are
maintained during the configuration process. This is necessary to maintain the truck’s Security
Status during communications.
If the truck's computer does not receive a valid DTIC command within the two minutes,
communications are terminated, and the truck security is returned to the normal operating mode.
If the communication link is not successful, the following error messages could appear and the
program will stop.

Error:
This message occurs if there is no initial connection to the truck or there is an abrupt
disconnection..

Resolution:
Verify that the drivers have been installed properly, and that the cable is connected. Re-key the
truck and then reopen DTIC.
