Advantages:

1. Strategy A: Focus on key projects like improving quality and safety at Tesla or
executing Starship at SpaceX
○ Quality for projects would improve
○ Reduction in production costs
○ Increase in consumer satisfaction/ company reputation
2. Strategy B: Continue to push the envelope..
○ Get to be frontline of new innovative fields
○ More time to establish themselves in new market
○ It is what Elon is used to doing and it has continued to work for him

Disadvantages:
2. Strategy A: Focus on key projects like improving quality and safety at Tesla or
executing Starship at SpaceX
○ Loss opportunity to invest that money into other upcoming industries
○ Longer production times due to focus on quality rather that just getting the
product out by the short deadline
○ May also affect customer satisfaction if it takes to long for production
3. Strategy B: Continue to push the envelope. Note: If you choose to do this, you
have to discuss specific directions, such as which new products and/or industries
to explore.
○ Decrease in Customer Satisfaction
○ High employee turnover rates
○ Not guaranteed to make profit from new projects

Elon Musk should focus more on key projects by improving quality at Tesla. The
reason is because of the poor quality of production due to short production time which
could cause potential problems in the future. Cars aren’t being repaired properly
because production goals aren’t being met. Workers are forced to work long hours
because production is so behind.
Elon Musk is already doing so many great things to grow his business, however,
there are some ways that he can improve his strategy to maintain a better smooth
working environment.
The first strategy that I would recommend is research and development, which can be
done by having more trials to test out safety features for Tesla. Next, the strategy that I
would recommend would be the operational strategy. They can do this by making more
attainable production goals that can be met with a reasonable timeframe. Lastly, I would
recommend human resource management strategy which can tie together with the
previous strategy to maintain workers as well as giving more trainings to employees.
