Subject: BMKG Visit Request

Dear Dr. Sidney Thurston,

With regard to the extension of our Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the

Field of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics of the Republic of Indonesia between the
Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics of the Republic of Indonesia
(BMKG) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the Department of
Commerce of the United States of America (NOAA) by the Addendum #2 to the MoU which
was signed on July 2022, we are planning to visit NOAA to discuss further the
implementation of the cooperative activities under our MoU.

There are several items to be discussed, such as the discussion on the Indonesia Prima plan of
activities, the Implementing Agreement between BMKG and NOAA regarding the Joint
Activities on Ocean Observations and Climate Services Support Capacity Building Program,
and other new capacity development program to be conducted between BMKG and NOAA.

With regard to the above, I –herewith– would like to ask your kind favor to accepting the
visit of our delegation, which comprises of the following personnel, to your institution
between Monday to Thursday, 14 to 17 November 2022:

2. Mr. Aries Erwanto, Head of Bureau for Planning, BMKG
