STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I, Sumanpreet Kaur, is a voracious reader since my childhood and I co-incidentally
came across the above statement and found is extremely valid in today’s world where
authenticity and reliability are difficult to find. I trust that I have the knack and
ability to win people’s trust and run business affairs seamlessly.
I take immense pleasure in extending my statement of purpose for my study permit
application. My happiness knew no bounds when I received offer letter for the
program of Business diploma in Niagara College.
There comes a point in every student’s life when she must make a choice of her
career. I am now at the threshold of choosing my career and I have chosen to train
myself in different aspects of Business as I am convinced that I can take up this
challenge of business to the next level with the knowledge and experience I gain in
this period.
The selection of Business program is obvious considering I have successfully completed
a diploma in Business Management and moreover since my formative days I was
always intrigued by impeccable business personnel’s. There is a kind of irresistible
suave, panache and fascination in their personalities. I wish to imbibe the same in
myself.
During my childhood I always wanted to be my own master, an entrepreneur at the
helm of a successful business enterprise. I also nurtured a secret dream – a dream that
led me to believe that a student who travels and studies overseas returns greatly
transformed in outlook and perspective. I am no different, and it is easy to imagine
how it would impact my future plans, and it was quite obvious that lacking any kind of
international capabilities (languages, experience, etc.) would greatly hinder my
career in the long run.

I have discovered that a Diploma of Business will provide me with a distinct advantage
over others. It will provide me a platform to be aware of the career path I wish to
pursue in future. The course of my choice gives an over-view of Management,
Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Marketing, Commercial Law and other related
subjects. We can’t deny that the knowledge of these areas is becoming indispensable
and is required in day to day life.

Once we go through selection process of program of your studies, the next step is to
decide the destination which at times is very tricky. But I am grateful that I am born
in the era of where modern technology is at your fingertips. It becomes easy to
research thoroughly about anything without hassles. Thus, after through research I
came up with Canada.

Canada is known to offer the best as regards education and exposure for international
students. I believe if I can get the opportunity to be a part of this intellectually
stimulating environment, I am sure my talents will be put to optimal use. The
education system of my country India gives lesser emphasis to practical knowledge as
compared to the education system of Canada. The courses in Canada are more
industry driven as compared to our
Country. I believe that undergraduate diploma earned from Canada shall equip me
with all necessary skills required to thrive in this competitive world.

Niagara college is one of Ontario’s 24 colleges of applied arts and technology

established in 1967 mainly in Welland, Ontario and is been expanding across Niagara
region internationally. Niagara College has grown to become leaders in applied
education. I was amazed to know that this college deals in arrays of undergraduate
and post-graduate specialization including technology, applied health, media, food and
beverage, hospitality, tourism, environment, horticulture and business. It’s quite
commendable to deal in such various fields without fail and Niagara College has been
managing it seamlessly for many years. Another attraction point is that it is in Niagara
region which is prime tourist location of Canada. The surveys have shown that the
graduates of Niagara College have been successfully placed in big MNCs and the
employers are satisfied NC grad they hire. I am optimistic that my experience in this
college will make significant difference to my career.

Future Goals
As India is a developing country, it has an enormous potential in Management Science,
Finance and Business. To serve the needs of this developing industry and more
important its vast economic infrastructure a business course is going to be of utmost
importance. Thus, conditions here are very conducive to supplement my aspirations
when I return after completing my education from Canada.

I trust that I have put my intent convincingly and have projected the authenticity that
I intend to do.
