GLOBAL SOUTH • Lacks appropriate technology • Has no political stability • Economies are disarticulated • The foreign exchange earnings depend on primary product exports. • The Global South is a term that has been emerging in the transnational and postcolonial studies to refer to what may also called be called the “ Thirld World” Africa, Latin America and the developing countries Asia. • Itcan also include poorer southern regions of wealthy northern countries. • The global south is more than the extension of a metaphor underdeveloped countries. • It refers to those countries interconnected histories of colonialism, neo-imperialism and differential economic and social change through which large inequalities in living standards, life expectancy and access to resources are maintained. • In economic terms, the North with one quarter of the world population controls four-fifths of the income earned anywhere on the world 90% of the manufacturing industries are owned by and located in the North. • While the South with 3 quarters of the world populations has access to one fifth of the world income.
