When I was scrolling through my YouTube stream today, I came upon Loose Talk, a
show hosted by iconic actor Moin Khan. The only thing that came to mind was, "Why
don't we make programs like this now?" Despite the fact that it was a roasting show, it
was so classic. I'd want to write about his time's renowned classic legend.
In general, Moin Akhtar was my favorite media personality. He was one of those
Pakistanis who did not require an introduction. He was a talented actor, host, singer,
producer, director, writer, and comedian who worked in both television and movies.
Moin was born on December 24, 1950, and it has been ten years since he passed away.
He made his debut as an actor when he was mere 13 years old, he played the character of
Shylock in Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice in theater & later on he made his
television debut at the age of 16. As time passes by he took his career to next level and
started as a standup comedian in 1966. This man never stops and he continued to perform
several roles in TV stage shows and later teamed up with Anwar Maqsood and Bushra
Ansari.
If I talk about his work then in 2018 his one of the video clip from The Loose Talk hosted
and write by Anwar Maqsood went viral & he became a popular face for youth due to his
sense of humor. There’s no lie in accepting the fact that demeaning human beings, using
foul language or throwing insults in the way of minorities, races or marginalized
members of society were far from Akhtar's style. Even in today’s era we can relax &
watch his show along with our family. He was not only good in acting but this legend had
mastered 8 languages in his lifetime & he could speak well, emote well, mimic
brilliantly, perform parody, and satirize almost anything and anybody in eight different
languages.
The legendary icon, who is known for his spontaneity, has interviewed several renowned
personalities of Pakistan, including current Prime Minister Imran, during his cricket days.
He also hosted Pakistani version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? & this legend was
rewarded with Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2011. In conclusion I just want to say that he left the
world but his stellar performances and witty jokes have kept him alive in the
entertainment industry. He suffered from heart diseases for a very long time, after
battling his diseases vigorously, Moin Akhtar died on 22nd April 2011. His legacy living
proof that he may be gone, but never forgotten.
