Instructions: Read more about Lawrence Kohlberg’s stages of moral development (preferably
the uploaded presentation in our LMS). Then, make examples by writing hypothetical
situations based on each stages.

Stages Examples

Stage 1: When a child obeys her mother in doing his assignment first so he
won’t be punish in staying at home and could go and play with his

Stage 2: When a sister asked her younger brother to buy her some foods but
the younger brother won’t do it unless the sister would give her

Stage 3: When the SK Chairman in your Barangay asked all youth to do a

community service (cleaning the canals) and you joined because

Stage 4: I think the situation suits in here is when your friends decided to go
out every Friday night to go party and chill even if you didn’t like it,
Maintaining Social you would go so they can say that you are a really good friend.

Stage 5: The situation I think about this is about religion being a barrier
when it comes to intimate relationship. When there’s a man who
Social Contracts and truly likes a woman but they have different beliefs and tradition
Individual rights but still he pursue her to marry him because he was ready to
change his religion for her even if his parents aren’t approve.
Stage 6: Based on my understanding, this is when a person wants to live on
her own that’s why she did, she doesn’t think of what others would
Universal Principles say but even if she was like that, she knows how to respects others
(like in terms of belief, religion, customs, traditions, etc.)
