ONLINE TEACHERS ENCOUNTER IN HANDLING ONLINE CLASSES TO EFL
STUDENTS?

[Good morning. Ako diay si Angel Grace B. Patonongon. As what I’ve informed sa
imuha last week, we are conducting an undergraduate research with regards to the
experiences of online English teachers and we’re calling you today to ask you some
questions regarding sa imong work as an online English teacher.]

Okay.

[So let’s start. First question. What are the experiences and challenges that online
teachers encounter in handling online classes to EFL students?]

Umm. sa challenges lang yata kay everytime naay power outage

and… unsa pa ba lain?... umm internet connection. Struggle kayo ang internet
connection sa online teaching kay dili jud mo magkasinabot sa imong learner.

Okay. Sayon ra man ni no? (laugh)

[Kaya ra jud kaayo ni nimo ma’am. So let’s start. First question. What are the
experiences and challenges that online teachers encounter in handling online
classes to EFL students?]

So far, the challenges that I have experienced kay first is the power outage and then
second is…uhmm the internet connection provider is very poor. Next is…language
barrier. Syempre they have their own language and English is their second language
so sometimes, it is very hard to communicate specially if your students are kids or
underage because they can’t understand what you are saying or telling them…uhm
they can understand naman if you’re going to let them read if they can’t understand
umm…what you are saying to them..and then another challenge for the online
teacher is the distractions in the surroundings like… sometimes saba kayo. That’s
why we have to use noise cancelling mic para dili madungog sa learner and
sometimes sa learner pud…

[What do you mean nga sa “learner pud”?]

Sometimes their surroundings are full of distractions like their toys. Uhhmmm unsa
pa ba? And I think ka na lang.

[First question, what are the experiences and challenges that online teachers
encounter in handling online classes to EFL students?]

First is language barrier, second kay…uuhhmm, the background like noise and the
third is uuhmm…yeah the equipment.

Uhmmm…technically, internet connection and power interruption.

what I’ve informed sa imuha last week, we are conducting an undergraduate
research with regards to the experiences of online English teachers and we’re

encounter in handling online classes to EFL students?]

Siguro… uhmm, internet connection. Lisod man gud pag hinay ang connection and
another is power outage…nga-nga jud basta mu brown-out lang ug kalit

pero okay lang man siya if naa kay back up, like imong cellphone, and everything
nga pwedi magamit in case naay power interruption.

First of all, internet connection problem, language barrier and time management.

[Okay. Next question, what difficulties and challenges you encountered in handling
EFL learners?]

Ang usual nako nga challenge kay kanang…ang studyante kay dili maminaw. Tapos
naa pud uban nga bastos kayo

[unsay pasabot sa “bastos”?]

kanang pangutan on nimo tapos di mutingog. So need jud nimo mu effort para
makuha nimo ang attention sa mga studyante.

PARTICIPANT B:

[Okay. Next question, what difficulties and challenges you encountered in handling
EFL learners?]

Uhmm…The usual issues for me is how you are going to catch the learner’s
attention, because sometimes, learners tend to play their toys although ongoing pa
ang klase. Specially with kids ages 6-8 years old, uhmmm… lisod nimo e catch
ilang attention if they are preoccupied with what’s in their surroundings. Though naa
ilang parents sa ilang side sometimes, they didn’t do anything like badlungon ilang
anak so, it is the teachers effort jud tanan and of course since classes takes place
virtually, so you can’t do anything aside from doing your best to make your learner…
uhmmm, interested.

Challenges…uhmm, just like what I’ve said awhile ago, uhmmm... it is…kanang it’s a
challenge for me if the background is noisy. And also, poor internet connection, like
last month and… katong mga niaging adlaw.

[Importante jud kaayo ang internet connection sa online teaching?]

Internet connection is very important to online teachers kay… naa pud baya nay
bad impact sa amoa. And another is the…uhmmm, everytime the student is not
interested sa topic,so uhmmm…uhmmm… kinahanglan you have to… kanang…
need nimo…kinahanglan nimo mangita napud ug laing way nga makaka-catch sa
ilang attention.

[Alright, Next question, what difficulties and challenges you encountered in handling
EFL learners?]

Challenges?... I think, the most challenging part is how you’re able to handle your
students specially, to those students with zero English, and also…uhmmm to
students who are young, okay, speacially, they have…uhmmm, I mean they have
short attention span… how you’re going to entertain your student, at the same time
you teach them or you are going to,… kana lang.

PARTICIPANT E:

[Next question, what difficulties and challenges you encountered in handling EFL
learners?]

I hate ano .. zero ug mga beginners gani kapoyan ko. Mga beginners kay kapoy kay
sila tudluan kay zero English kailangan jud kag time dili jud kabalo specially kids like
maka handle kog 2 years old, oh kinsa may ganahan ana mutudlo ug two years old.

[Mao bitaw. 2 years old? Naa diay two years old?]

Oh ang uban dili kabalo naa.. naa jud na ma meet na nimu naa puy uban na mga
tigulang na mga rude. Naa diay two years old diay di pajud na kakuan lisod jud kay
nang two years old.. ohh mama mama ka.

[Okay. Next question, what difficulties and challenges you have encountered in
handling EFL learners?]

Kuan, experiences and challenges is kanang makatunong ka ug students nga


underage… kanang level zero.

[Unsay level zero miss?]

walay nabal-an nga English words. So, challenge sa for me kay, kailangan nimo sila
e guide jud ug hmmm, unsa gane na… slowly gud kay wala man silay natun-an nga
word. Kasagaran sa ilaha kay mag parroting lang, magsuo-suon lang sa imong sulti,
unya as a teacher,para naa silay matun-an, dapat imo jung ipasabot sa ilaha in a
simple way… dapat basic word, dapat kanang dali lang nila masabtan. Mao nay
challenge for me.

PARTICIPANT G:

[Okay. Next question, what difficulties and challenges you encountered in handling
EFL learners?]

Just like what I’ve said earlier, struggle jud sa online teaching ang internet
connection and also uhmmm language barrier…specially pag ang bata is kanang,
kanang kuan gud, dili kasabot ug English.

[Ah. Okay.]

Question 1.2 – WHAT ARE THE USUAL ISSUES THAT YOU HAD MET IN
HANDLING EFL LEARNERS?

PARTICIPANT A:

[Okay. Let’s proceed. What are the usual issues that you had met in handling EFL
learners?]

Kuan… sa akoa kay personal feelings.

Kanang sa akoa nga feelings…kuan kanang sige na bitaw ug balik-balik ang


situation…so medjo mura na siya ug boring. . Actually bag-o lang jud ko nagonline
teaching kay ang plano jud unta is mag abroad Japan tapos didto magteach but then
niabot man si COVID so ayon tambay and kapoy tambay kaya nagonline teaching
ko… pero before that di jud ko ganahan kay o-eyhan jud kaayo ko. (chuckle)… As
an online teacher, para sa akoa,… kanang sa akoa lang huh, ang challenge jud sa
akoa kay kanang dili ko mabored…uhmmm, dili dapat maboring ang klase maskin
balik-balik na ang set-up… ana… tapos kanang maghunahuna napud ka ug unsa
napud imong gamiton nga approach karon na class kay balik-balik napud…kanang
ing-ana gud.

[Ah. Balik-balik lang diay usually inyong topic po?]

Yes, so maghunahuna napud ka unsa napud strategy gamiton nimo karon para
lively ang klase…tapos isa pud diay nga difficulty nako kay kanang…ang kuan
bitaw…kanang..uhmmm…tawag ana oi…ay…kuan kanang materials…kanang
murag IMs ba kung sa face to face pa nga klase…usahay dili mu-match sa edad sa
imong learner, so kinahanglan jud ka mu-effort pa jud ug maayo…so mao lang na…
bag-o paman pud gud ko ani and wala pud jud unta ni sa akong plano. (chuckle)…
so mao to.

PARTICIPANT B:

[Okay. Next question, what difficulties and challenges you encountered in handling
EFL learners?]

Uhmmm, for me the usual issues kay,uhmmm…first is internet connection, and then,
next is, the materials. You have to be prepared so usual difficulties na siya for me
and of course, the learners. Uhmmm…you have to…uhmmm, make your learners
interested in your class and aside from that, it is also a challenge uhmmm, kanang
you have underage learners, which is mga usual learners nga nagabook jud.
Uhmmmm, naa man pud mga adult. I have taught an adult na pud and some are
already professionals na like doctor, businessman, and basta mga professional.
Their problem is…uhmmm, they can read English naman pero they have difficulties
in understanding the sentence.Uhmmm, naa koy na learner nga businessman and…
uhmmm, syempre ma-pressure pud ka gamay kay mga begaten kaayo besh no
(laugh)… They are, uhmmm… unsa na, kanang… uhmmm, hawud in terms of
writing but, they have difficulties in understanding English kung sa speaking and

aside pud ana…though they are adult already, they have uhmmm… difficulties in
expressing themselves using English language kay… just like us, English is their
second language also so maskin professional na sila, they have trouble in
expressing themselves in English… Pero usually jud, kids man akong learners so
the usual issue anis a ilaha kay how to catch their attention jud… Maskin naa pa na
ilang parents sa kilid, wa ra jud na silay pakialam besh…unya si learner kay daghan
kaayo ug distraction sa iyang palibot like mga toys…so lisod jud e catch ilang
attention specially that some of them are 6 to 8 years old pa lang…ay… naa pa
gane ko na studyante nga 3 years old and 4 years old tapos level 0…mao lang jud
ang lisod pag level zero kay di jud sila kasabot ug English maskin gamay. Pero ang
usual jud kay catching the attention of the learners jud apecially kanang daghan
kaayo ug distraction… and also mga vocabularies pud diay…because some of the
learners are not that good in understanding the second language, so naay time nga
dili nila masabtan ang isa ka word so as a teacher…uhmmm, you have to look for
words, similar meaning ato nga word, nga easy lang nila sabton.

PARTICIPANT C:

Uhmmm… struggling in capturing the student’s attention…that’s my first, specially if


level zero ang student. Next, if sa teenagers, uhmmm… kuan… uhmmm, their…
kanang way of communicating…uhmmm, they can express but the thought…we can
understand the thought but the grammar…the…basta grammar, ang fluency… is
naa jud dira…mao jud na ilang struggle. Then second, kay… kuan, uhmmm, naa
pud, murag somehow is the same pud sa first, is ang… kuan jud ang ilahang…
ilahang ilang bar… ang language jud…is kanang…mao jud na isa sa mga struggle
jud kay… second language man gud nila nang English, so ma…ma-ano jud nila
ba… ma…ma… if mag-express sila is naa juy… naa juy times na ma-bring nila
ilahang… ilang native language…mao nay isa sa difficulties nga imong ma-kuan…
tapos dili sila kasabot ug… ug…English jud so kinahanglan jud ka mugamit ug la…
ug kanang gestures and...and realias…ug kanang anything nga makasabot sila.

PARTICIPANT D:

I think the most usual issue for me and is very challenging part of being an online
teacher also, is how you are going to teach your students with zero English level…
and also to those students that is…that are young, okay because they have short
attention span so you…you’re going to think of ways on how you’re going to

entertain them at the same time, you…can achieved your learning goals or objective
in that particular class.

PARTICIPANT E:

Like I’ve said a while ago, di jud ko ganahan mag-magklase ug mga ing-ana, like
underage, mga ing-ana ug edad… Lisod kaayo magtudlo jud ug mga studyante nga
zero English jud. Wa jud word nga English nabal-an. Mao jud na akong usually na
issue.

PARTICIPANT F:

Wala man jud koy uhmm kanang usual issues kay uhmmm, usually man gud sa
students nako kay regular napud so, murag nasanay na sila sa akoa the way ko
magteach, and usually pud sa akong students is kanang… mutuman rapud sila kung
unsa akong iingon, unsa akong instruction e follow nila, mao lang.

PARTICIPANT G:

English barrier uhmmm… language barrier, its because, English dapat?

Kay uhmmm, not all…uhmmm, dili tanan bata or other nationalities know even basic
English so they are uhmmm mao nang hard sa ilaha or lisod sa ilaha mo understand
bisan simple instructions like circle, underline, like that. Ana.

Questions 1.3 – WHAT MAKES YOU MOTIVATED TO PURSUE ONLINE


TEACHING DESPITE THE EXPERIENCES YOU HAVE ENCOUNTERED?

PARTICIPANT A:

Of course, money… (laugh)… kapoy kaayo ug tambay sa balay oi unya hurot na


akong kwarta…hahahahaha…dili paman madayon ang plano jud so…hahahaha…
tambay.x lang sa tapos work gamay… tapos pag hurot na ang money balik napud

work…(laugh) …pwedi raman ka magclose ug schedules nimo so ako everytime…


kanang dili nako feel or boring…or usahay kapoy..uhmm, di sa ko nagaopen ug
class.

PARTICIPANT B:

Uhmmm what makes me motivated is kanang… first is, of course the salary and
aside from that, it is in line with my profession so uhmmm, kana. And then I can
practice my command in English so kana…Uhmmm unsa pa ba? Uhmm of course
you have to love your job in order for kanang, makapadayon gud ka, kay this job jud
is…is kanang… requires a lot of patience jud. And very fulfilling pud siya sa feeling
everytime uhmm a learner can learn something new from you…although di man jud
nako masure kung naa ba jud silay nalearn (chuckle) …kay of course some of them
are underage or level zero so lisod jud… You have to stay optimistic jud para
makapursue ka ani nga uuhh job.

PARTICIPANT C:

First is, align man gud siya sa akong…is align siya sa akoang…sa akoang uhmmm
career…align siya. Isa pa kay mapraktis nako akong English, then secondly,
honestly speaking,is ang…ang…ang kuan jud… ang salary na among maget.

[ay dako jud diay?]

Its kanang…dili jud ka makaingon na… na kanang… na baba.. so makakakuha mi


ug salary na kanang…taas jud siya na rate ba. Tapos ang isa pa kay naa ra mi sa
balay ba, specially karon pandemic so… we can still earn money, so kana.

PARTICIPANT D:

What keeps me motivated? Uhh, honestly, it is very hard, okay, it requires uhh, it
requires patience and as a teacher, one of the good qualities of a teacher is you are
passionate of what you are doing, so whenever I encountered this kind of issues and
problems, I always think of role, I always think, “why?” … “Why am I here?”, because
I want,.. I want to give learning, I want to teach them, so despite of these uhmmm
difficulties and challenges, okay my passion helps me to go through,okay helps me
to surpass these challenges.

PARTICIPANT E:

because of money.because of… syempre because of money jud. Because of the


salary.

PARTICIPANT F:

As a teacher uhh, kanang mamotivate ka magteach nila bisan balungon gud sila
kay, at the end of the day parang...makahappy gud, makagaan siya sa feelings,
kanang naa kay students nga nakakat-on sa imuha, bisan pag para sa imuha dili to
siya hawd pagkatudlo…dili to siya hawd pagkatudlo oi, pero naa japon silay natun-
an sa imuha, makamotivate siya bisan simple ra kaayo imong pagtudlo, unya
magabalik-balik gud sila sa imuha.

PARTICIPANT G:

Salary and comfort from home.

Question 2 – HOW DO ONLINE TEACHERS COPE WITH THE CHALLENGES


THAT GO WITH THEIR JOB AS ONLINE TEACHERS TO EFL LEARNERS?

PARTICIPANT A:

Kuan lang jud… dapat taas ka ug pasensya…ana ra jud na…maskin lami na kaayo
mamalikas…(laugh) …ngise-ngise lang gihapon. Kanang lami najud kaayo
balikason ug maayo…usahay lami najud kaayo ingnon nga “piste kang bataa ka!”…
pero smile lang jud ka gihapon. Kaysa mawad an ka ug trabaho.

PARTICIPANT B:

If they’ll not participate of course, di man jud nimo ma… makuan, naa man jud
distraction sa palibot specially, this kind of way, this kind of teaching kay face-to-face
lang man mo, so what I always do is that, uhmmm, ginatry nako na…na gina…
ginacapture ilang attention like by using some uhmmm, props like mga…mga ice-
cream, char-char lang gud, ana, so ginatry nako… ginatry nako na energetic pud ko
para…para makuan sila “ay si teacher, energetic kaayo si teacher ba, maminaw ko.”

So ginatry nako ug kuan, specially kids three to eight years old… naa man gane
nine dili maminaw. So mao jud akong ginatry jud nako sila ug e capture ang
attention by using props, kay mao man jud nay uhh one way of capturing of their
attention. Their attentions diay…daghan diay sila.

PARTICIPANT C:

Uhmmm maskin ang learner dili maminaw kay is…it’s a big job of the teacher jud, so
to cope na…uuhhh…na para sa mga learner nga dili mukuan uhmmm kanang, firstly
is, dapat ano jud dapat… ikaw mismo positive jud ka so, kung dili jud sila maminaw
so try to capture their attention through songs tapos…ka na.

PARTICIPANT D:

How do I cope? Uhmmm, I think by just being passionate lang jud. As a teacher you
should be passionate in teaching and everything will follow smoothly,okay, though
some learners are uhh not showing interest in learning with you uhh, just encourage
them so, you just have to have passion to surpass those difficulties.

PARTICIPANT E:

Uhmmm, patience lang jud… para dili ka mastress. Ay, dili man jud na malikayan
kay… there are students specially uhhh kanang kuan gud, kanang underage, di jud
maminaw. Kung wa jud ka ana, awww mastress jud ka. Ana lang.

PARTICIPANT F:

Be patient. Hmmm, dapat taas jud ka ug pasensya jud nga magtudlo sa mga
studyante labi nag underage imong tudluan. Unya mao to, dapat taas jud ka ug
pasensya, kay naa pud koy experience before new palang gud ko, nga ano… hawud
jud siguro to siya muEnglish but then, ang kong naencounter, wala siya nitingog
nako…then, the whole ano jud… as in wala jud mi nagklase. Kay duha man iyang
gehbook nga class so one hour mi nagklase, igo ra siya nagreet sa akoa and after
that wala na siya nitingog so, ako, obligado ko nga mutudlo niya maskin wala siya
nitingog, ao ako lang nagstorya.x. wala jud as in wala. Sa iyang side kay wala jud
siyay camera, wala nitingog.

For me, uhmmm kuan man gud usahay, sunod-sunod ang klase so, syempre naa
man juy mga bata nga maglagot na jud ka so, oh, kana ganing…I always try uhh my
best to be like well-prepared when I’m going to like when… I’m going to have
classes kay, you know you should be well-prepared when you uhh… uhh kana
ganing kung magklase ka kay, syempre kung dili ka prepared so naa juy mga
tendency nga dili ka ka-manage sa imong kalagot ana ana. So dapat well-prepared

Uhmm I’ve learned a lot. Specially like uhmmm, in handling different students,
because they have different personalities also, so of course naay maminaw, naay
dili so kailangan very flexible ka sa mga ing ana and then of course, time. Yes.
Value your time much because every second is… is important, naa gane sa among
classroom every second, every hour. (laugh) charoot. Bitaw very important , you
should be on time… because they are very particular with their time and they are

Lesson that I learn from this kind of job? Uhmmm, kanang kuan… like what I’ve said
earlier, need lang jud patas-an imong pasensya. If you want to enter in this kind of
uhmmm job, you need to uhhh kanang, patas-an jud imong patience.

Uhmmm, need jud ang taas nag pasensya.uhmm, unsa pa ba lain?...Uhmmm, as


an online teacher kay need pud nimo maging humble…I mean, dili pasabot nga ikaw
ang teacher kay kabalo naka tanan kay maskin dili kaayo sila kabalo mu-English,
daghan japon ka ug matun-an. Tapos…as an online teacher pud… uhmmm,
kinahanglan hunahunaon nimo nga there is always room for improvement…
uhmmm, mao lang jud na akong ginahunahuna kay kabalo naka, bag-o pa ko ani…
so ana lang. (chuckle)

PARTICIPANT B:

Uhmmm, you know, kana ganing…uhh lisod gyud ang muhandle ug students, pero if
you’re very passionate, and you’re very willing to learn or willing to… not also to
teach but to learn from them, so ana man jud na uhmmm, murag give and take gyud
siya. Of course kanang, you can learn from them and you will also learn from you…

So uhmmm, the most important lesson jud nga kanang… uhmmm makaana jud ko

So far, I have experienced a lot in online teaching and learned from it na rin,
specially uhh if you’re dealing with kids or level zero learners because they are the
usual learners who really needs effort in catching their attention. Also, enthusiastic,
okay, you need to be energetic infront of your learners so that they will not get uhh,
feel bored in class and o be prepared for what will happen along the process. Okay,
of course you need to have a long patience in online teaching specially in handling
kids.

PARTICIPANT E:

Ang lesson nga akong nahibal an, be patient… patient jud kay dili, labi na pag
daghan kaayo ko studyante nya kapoy na nya daghan kaayog badlungon…ako
biskan paglagot na kaayo ko…lagot na kaayo ko pero smile lang japon ,
professional lang japon ko. Yes patient is a virtue jud.

PARTICIPANT F:

Ano, valuable lesson, dili ang… ay kanang, ang tanan gud, kay naa jud sa
process…dili jud ka basta-basta makalearn… diba sila kanang ano, Chinese, then
naglearn sila ug English, magstart jud ka sa level zero, kanang dili jud ka deritso
kanang makalearn jud kung baga naa jud step by step nga process.

Question 3.2 - HOW WILL YOU APPLY THOSE LESSONS THAT YOU HAVE

LEARNED FROM YOUR EXPERIENCES?

PARTICIPANT A:

Since bag-o pako ani nga work, uhmmm. E apply lang nako tong mga answer nako
ganina? (chuckle)…bitaw oy, akong e pang apply tong akong gipang answer
ganina…uhmmm…siguro kuan pud,… kuan man pud gud until mahuman lang man
gud ning pandemic, tapos muproceed napud ko sa akong first plan jud nga naudlot
lang tungod aning scovidobido (laugh)… and I think dako man pud ni siya nga
tabang sa akoa kay magteach man pud ko didto…so, uhmmm… for experience na
rin…

PARTICIPANT B:

Of course being on time, so of course naa man jud tay ginatawag ug Filippino time
HA HA, kanang muingon ug sabot 8:00, maabot alas nuebe, wow perpek. So, uhh,
kana ganing, how can I apply… kanang e kuan lang jud nimo siya, kana ganing, you
need, you need to be very kuan sa imong time. So dapat you need to manage your
time, so if your going to do this kind of thing, so you need to you need to do it uhh
this thing on time naa gyuy particular time nga imong ginaset so that naa kay… naa
kay ma reach nga goal everyday. Hmmm, naa man jud kay goal everyday so, ing-
ana, hmmm e apply nimo siya and then of course uhmmm, be very uhmmm, flexible
nga muhimog mga butang kay syempre naa man jud mga unexpected nga mga
butang, charroot (laugh). So ing-ana…so you should be, kana ganing…uhh kana
ganing… naa jud kay dapat nga uhhh kana ganing…goal nga imong e kuan sa
imong kaugalingon, so para mareach nimo. Of course you need to value your time,
kay ako baya usahay, sa skwelahan permenti baya ko late, maingnan bitaw ko ni
maam sa una, “permente lage na late si Alberca?” Alangan no alas 8:00 ang klase,
alas 7:00 mao pay pagligo tuuurraa perpek (laugh).

As an EFL teacher jud no kay ako jud uhmmm, isa man jud ko sa …uhmmm dili man

gud akong ganahan sa Chinese. As a teacher man pud gud, you need to be on time

Pero sa China kay murag akong nakuan sa ilaha ba, even ikaw ang teacher, ang

siya mamaster in a short span of time ba, so gina-ano lang nako, gina-try nako
akong kaugalingon to be like them, kanang ginavalue every minute kanang…pero
usahay tapulan man japon ko… Usually mauna jud na sila sa klase for example
twenty-five minutes mana, five minutes pa lang…uhmmm five minutes before pa
lang naa najud na sila. Nisulod najud na sila sa klase. Tapos ako kay one minute…
pero dapat three minutes jud dapat na kay maghimo pa baya ka ug lesson memo,
unya naa pa kay kachat (laugh)…pero malate ko dili tungod sa kuan, tungod sa
equipment, kanang ang laptop kay mag easy-crash siya, dili dayon ka kasulod inig
click, mao na siya, pero magreklamo mana sila kanang malate ka…

teacher is late, ana, teacher leave the class, depende na na sa ilaha kung mag-bad
feedback sila pero naa may studynte uban nga dili,specially kanang mga tarong.

magcomplain sila.

As an online teacher of course, there are many lessons that you can learn uhhh so,
as you go along in this job, you can encounter different experiences and struggles
that might teach you lessons. For me, I will continue to be passionate with my job
and, at the same time, uhh have more patience with my learners as well as be
creative in this kind of job.

PARTICIPANT E:

Kay future education man ko, nagamit jud nako akong pag ka teacher , kabalo nako
unsaon paghandle sa mga studyante tungod ra sad sa akong mga experiences, sa
mga butang nga akong natudlo.

PARTICIPANT F:

Siguro ma-apply nako siya uhhh kanang maabot nagud nimo imong dreams…

nimo siya maachieve.

PARTICIPANT G:

Uhhh, you always need to smile bisan unsa pa ka lisod ang imong struggle, kay by

na siya, and then you cannot force someone to learn something if kanang, wala sa

Okay, as for my experience uhh, what I can uhh suggest sa ilaha or tips kay uhh,…
just uhh love what they do. For example, In this kind of like work, yeah of course,
naa man gyuy uhhh naa man gyuy expectations nga ilang ginaexpect ani, uhh, so,
expect… expected, kuan… kanang, kanang unsay tawag ana oy, uhh… when they
will have their classes, example, well-prepared sila, set aside the problems kay it
might affect their classes and of course, just smile? Uhh, just smile, smile like that
kasi, you are dealing with different personalities of students so,… and of course,
they need to be on time… on time, of course uhh like maybe uhh three, uhh five to
three minutes before ilang time, enter na sa ilang ano, so they need to check also
their equipments because naay,… one way…uhmm, one of the struggles that you
might encounter in this kind of uhmmm, work is kung walay internet, unsaon nimo
pag communicate?... mag-lag baya na noh. So dili makasabot ang bata, ana, so uhh
be prepared and… just relax and uhmmm,kato love this kind of work, and then uhhh,
unsay tawag ana oi, kanang… taason jud nimo imong pasensya kay specially, kids.
Yeah. Ana.

PARTICIPANT C:

Uhmmm. Kuan, kani man gud na kuan… kani man gud na kuan… na trabaho is
patience jud dapat naa kay patience, kana, tapos enjoy…e enjoy jud nimo imuhang
job, so kanang… although mastress man jud ka, pero always look on the positive
side gane sa trabaho, specially EF… kani man gud na trabaho more on, kanang
maghago, the more ka nga makakuha ug nindot nga result. So pananglitan kanang
naa jud student dili maminaw, ang imuha jud ana kay dulaon jud nimo, even
kantahan nimo sila, try to catch their attention na…na…makuan sila, mainterested
sila. Pareha raman pud na sila sa atoa, pag at first pa lang, is mailang jud na sila, so
try to kuan…try jud nimo nga kuhaon ilang loob. Oh… ang loob like asking
questions… try to ask basic questions, like kung nagkaon na sila, nagunsa na sila
karon tapos, pagkahuman patient. Dapat jud taas ka, naa ka na. Always wear your
best smile pagmagklase ka, so maskin pag lagot na kaayo ka…always presentable
jud dapat ka, tapos wear your kiddiefy uhmm clip, uhmm headband. Even pwedi
gane ka magwig, para lang maentertain lang ang bata. Try to kuan jud, try to kanang
make them laugh, ana ba, dapat imo silang pakataw-on kay maboring man gud na
sila even 25 minutes lang na kay mga bright naman gud na sila na bata in nature,

Teaching sometimes makes us frustrated specially with dealing with diverse student
yet fulfilling when progress attained by the students. Okay, specially pag zero
English ang bata tapos uhh makita nimo after pila ka class ninyo kanang,
makafollow na siya ug instructions…makasabot na siya nimo, so need jud nato uhh
sila sabton, ilang needs ug patience pud specially language ilang gitun-an.

PARTICIPANT E:

Mao to mao jud to sya. Be patient and love your job because mao ni gahatag sa imo
ug income, mao nay nagbuhi sa imuha , biskan unsa nimo kakapoy ,pero kailangan
in every class you should do your best kay naa japon mga studyante nga lami
tudloan or mga okay so, love your job.

PARTICIPANT F:

Dapat kung musulod sila kay be prepared, dapat naa silay pasesnya. Despite sa
tanang struggle dapat motivated ka.

PARTICIPANT G:

Uhmmm, timing and pacing siguro sa imuhang student. Timing interms of ...
tanshahon nimo kung naa sila sa mood mag, maki-pagklase or wala, and tanshahon
nimo if that kid is playful o dili so, usahay… duha man gud kabuok imong please.
First dili man gud ang studyante ang imong e please kung dili ang parents so go
naka sa student, so better if flexible ka, dapat open-minded, whatever happ…
