ACTIVITY-1

Aim :- To assemble a household circuit comprising three bulbs, three (on/off)

switches, a fuse and a power source.

Apparatus Require→ Three electric bulbs, [HOW, 60, 100W], three bulb
holders, these switches, a fuse holder and a fuse wire a three pin plug, flexible
two colored insulating copper wire, stripper, a screw delver, I lire tester, tools
like a wire cutter and a drill.

Theory 1 → In household circuit, all appliances are connected in Parallel

while A switch is connected in appliance lime. with each phase of wire supply

Systematic Steps:
1. Connected one end of the bulb holder to the red. flexible wire through a
switch s and the other is connected to black flexible wire

2. Connected all the three bulbs ≤1, ≤2 and ≤3 in parallel, with and wire ends at
One point and black wire end as at the other point.

3. Take two long flexible wires ends which serve leads.

4. Connected the main fuse in series with the power source. Connect a plug
and the socket at the ends of two leads. Connect a green wire from the earth
pin of the plug. Insert the plug in socket provided in main electric board.

5. Check the circuit once again to ensure that household circuit is completed.

Testing → Put the switches on one by one... Then put them off one by one.

Conclusion → h All the bulbs and switches work properly with controlled
power supply.

Precautions –
1. All the components must be connected to the power supply as given in the
circuit diagram.
 2. Insulated copper / Aluminium wire of standard color code should be used
for connections

3. Switches and fuse must always be placed on the live wire

4. keep all the connections light and insulation intact

5. Be extra careful not to touch any exposed part of this circuit
