The playing field is called the lane. It will be flat, of packed earth. It will be between 72 and 90 m long and from 8 to 11
m wide. Palm trunks or other damping elements are placed at the ends of the lane to stop the balls.

At the ends of the lane the chamba line is drawn. Line that must be crossed by all the balls that are thrown for the
throw to be valid. Several zones are identified in the lanes: Launch zones. At the ends of the lane. Bowling area. Where
the 9 pins are placed.

How to play bolos cartageneros

- A team is made up of between 9 and 12 Players. Although only 7 participate in official matches, remaining
the rest of reserves. In each team there is a delegate and a manillas.
- The delegate will be in control of the pins knocked down by his team, while the manillas acts as the
captain of the team and is the last to shoot. Both sign the records at the end of each game. In official
competitions, team members must be properly uniformed.

How to play bolos cartageneros

- A game is played by two teams and is divided into two games of 11


games each. A game is won by the team that knocks down the most
pins. The team that wins 6 games wins each game. The victory
computes two points and the tie 1 point.
- The throwing of the ball without effect is called yemas (finger tips).
Indeed, there are two throws that are achieved by turning the wrist to
shoot: margarite (the ball comes out through the little finger) and gordo
(“thumb”, the ball comes out through the thumb).
- Each play begins by throwing the ball next to the first skittle, it is what is
called mande a copas. Then the ball is thrown again from the birlaero,
placed at the other end of the lane behind the chamba line. This second
pitch is called the birlaero's mande.
