Purpose: To place the INTERLOCK SWITCH in the correct position.
Specification: The INTERLOCK ACTUATOR enters the center of the INTERLOCK
SWITCH when you install the FRONT COVER.

2 Slide the STOP fully to the left.
3 Install the TOOL 6H7206.
4 Allow the PLATE SUPPORT to move to the right.
5 Use a FLASHLIGHT to check that the STOP lightly touches the TOOL.

Important
You must carefully tighten the SCREW on the STOP to prevent the STOP from moving.

6 Tighten the SCREW on the STOP.


7 Loosen the SCREW on the TOOL and remove the TOOL.

Preparing the Equipment

Important
DOSIMETER A LEAD SHEET and the help of a
Radiological Technologist (RT) is necessary
for this procedure.

1 Use the following specifications for the


first setup of the X-ray equipment:
• 80 kVp (+/- 1)
• 80 mAs

The specification above for the mAs might

Important
You must use a LEAD SHEET or a LEAD APRON under the DOSIMETER. If a LEAD
SHEET or a LEAD APRON is not used, the values on the DOSIMETER will be false by a
maximum of 20%.

3 Place a LEAD SHEET or a LEAD APRON and the DOSIMETER TL-4818 in the center of
the area defined by the tape.

10 If you have adjusted the mAs setting more than once and the value is not within the
specification, move the X-RAY TUBE up a minimum distance.

Note
You will use the recorded number when you do the calibration procedure.

15 Ask the RT to expose the DOSIMETER 3 times to check that the values remain within
+/− 0.2 mR of the value that you recorded in Step 14.

If the values are not within the specification, use another X-ray source.

If the feature for the KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Long-Length Imaging (LLI) System is
enabled, do the calibration of the LLI CASSETTES before the STANDARD CASSETTES.

1 Touch:

2 Enter the number from the display on the DOSIMETER. See Step 14 on Page 189.
3 Insert the first CASSETTE into the system.
4 Touch [Start Calibration Scan].
