16th December is the Great Victory Day. 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's victory. A unique
glorious day of the Bengali nation. Responding to the call of the father of the nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bengali won the final victory on this day in 1971 with
23 long years of political struggle and 9 months of bloody liberation war.

Various colourful programmes have been undertaken to mark the birth centenary of the father
of the nation, 'Mujib Year' and the Golden Jubilee of Independence, "These ceremonies are
being celebrated in accordance with hygiene by avoiding the crowd in the coronavirus
epidemic situation. ’

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib promoted Bangladesh to a "least developed" country, and we


took the motherland to the country of 'developing' to the country on the auspicious occasion of
Mujib Year and the Golden Jubilee of Independence. In the last 50 years, all our
achievements have been from the father of the nation and the Awami League. If our
development continues, Bangladesh will become the golden Bangladesh of Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujib's hunger-free and advanced dream by 2041.

SUnder the strong leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib, the Bengali nation was ready for
independence through the language movement of 1948-1952, the education movement of
'1962,' the six-point of '1966', the eleven-point of 1969 and the mass uprising. In the general
elections of 1970, the Awami League won an absolute majority in the whole of Pakistan. But
the Pakistanis did not allow the Bengali nation to take power. The father of the nation realized
that the Bengali nation was tortured, tortured and deprived without gaining independence. On
March 7, 1971, he stood in the sea of people at the historic Racecourse Maidan and declared,
"This time the struggle for our liberation, this time the struggle for freedom".

Non-cooperation movement started on the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib. Preparations


for the armed liberation war continued. Pakistani invaders started killing innocent and
unarmed Bengalis on the night of March 25, '71. Bangabandhu declared bangladesh's
independence in the early hours of March 26. Armed liberation war began. On April 17,
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib was sworn in as president, Syed Nazrul Islam as vice-president
and Tajuddin Ahmad as prime minister in Mujibnagar and the first government of the People's
Republic of Bangladesh conducted the liberation war. Brave freedom fighters fight 9 months
of bloody war Through this, the Pakistani invaders and their dosar defeated the Razakar-
Albadar-Alshams forces and achieved the final victory on December 16. We get the red-green

The Father of the Nation rebuilds the war-torn country in just 3 and a half years. He
accelerated the economy by activating destroyed roads, bridge culverts, railway lines, ports.
In just 10 months, under his guidance, our Constitution was framed on the basis of the spirit
of liberation war. The GDP growth rate crossed 9 % in 1975. Bangabandhu took war-torn
Bangladesh to the 'least developed' country.

The government chief said that while Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib was moving ahead with the
goal of creating an exploitation-free non-communal democratic 'Golden Bangla' after facing all
obstacles, anti-independence evil 1971. He was brutally murdered along with most of his
family members on the night of August 5. After the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib,
Bangladesh's development journey came to a halt. The politics of murder, murder and
