Ethical Schools of Thought - Stewardship and Totality of Life

Evaluation:

Name: Rezel Mae M. Fernandez Course/Yr: BSABE-2

1. Discuss the difference between ownership and stewardship.

Ownership is the moral right to categorically control something and

gave property a detailed and comprehensive meaning . The sense of
ownership describes the feeling of mineness that we experience toward our
bo dy parts, feelings or thoughts. It has tended to agree with what people ge
nerally think on the matter. And all of these points are not only compatible with
ownership being a moral right but require it. On the other hand,
stewardship refers to the expression of one’s responsibility to take care of,
nurture, cultivate, and preserve something considered worth caring for and
what has been entrusted to one’s care. Stewardship is protecting and
expanding assets that belong to another. We learn that God gave man the
authority to rule over everything on Earth. Even though mankind was entrusted
with the maintenance and care of the animals, land, and sea, God created
them and He was the actual owner.

2. Explain “As a good steward, I must work for liberation from poverty, disease
and oppression” .

To be a good steward, we should find solutions in every problem in our

society where poverty, disease, and oppression could not prosper. We should
find ways and work for it in which it will bring the best for everyone . A place
where the augment of homelessness, u nemployment, and charities would
stop. A disease- free environment, in which people will practice healthful
lifestyle choices such as maintaining a healthy weight, not smoking, and
regularly exercising that can significantly extend the number of years that an
individual avoids disease. And every person would not experience cruelty,
unfair, unjust, and abusive exercise of power which prevents from having
opportunities and freedom. I, we, together can influence the lives of others
within communities, nations, and within and beyond our own time.
3. What makes a person whole? How is totality preserved or lost?

Becoming a whole person involves utilizing our heart, our soul, our mind,
and our strength. These elements are meant to operate in an integrated and
holistic manner, working together to make the whole greater than the sum of
its parts. But, when one of those areas is impaired, all we may feel is
brokenness. Moreover, focusing on the six aspects of Whole Person
Development namely: the emotional, physical, spiritual, social, psychological,
and professional, allows us to live a balanced and successful life. Taking a
deeper look into these core elements enable us to learn how to develop
each of them. Subsequently, if philosophical anthropology asks how human
existence as a totality is, Marx appropriated it to make it a comprehensive
historical category. The dynamic movement towards the whole is
accomplished by the engine. Hegel writes, “Thus what is sublated is at the
same time preserved; it has only lost it.
