Color Coding Inspection Report
Color Coding Inspection Report
Ref Description
The color-coding system is a physical identification to prevent the use of equipment that has not
1
been formally inspected.
A competent person has to formally inspect all lifting equipment tools and machines before initial
2
use on site. Mandatory quarterly inspections must also take place for the replacement and use of
them.
Color-coding is done only on the lifting equipment which is having valid third-party certificates. It is
3 the individual user’s responsibility to check the condition of the lifting equipment before use even
though it has got a valid third-party certificate and is color-coded.
To indicate that tools, machines, etc. have been inspected, the ‘approval tag’ shall be displayed on
4 them. The background color of the approval tag denotes each three monthly term based on the color-
coding system.
All employees must be trained in the color-coding system, and its signboard has to be clearly
5
displayed on site to enable all persons working on site to be aware of the current coding.
