Reflective Evaluation worksheet (U10, LO3: AC 3.1&3.

2)

DOWNLOAD THIS DOCUMENT, DO NOT FILL IT IN ON TEAMS!!

You are required to complete both sections on this sheet and place the content in your Weebly section called Evaluation.

Wherever you use a quote from any other source, please say where you got it from or it could result in a PLAGIARISM
mark which would automatically fail the unit.

Task 1/2: Reflect on how your work fits your audience (U10:LO3_AC3.1)
Please answer ALL boxes in order to pass this section. You can include screen grabs and links to help. This section is about
evaluating how your work fits the audience you have chosen to target. Answer all three questions fully with supporting
images, links and evidence of audience/survey feedback.

Choose THREE existing professional versions aimed at the same audience/genre as your work. How does yours compare to them? BE
SPECIFIC.

Example 1 of 3
URL/link, image and description
https://youtu.be/eSeUuYmc1gE

Loop created by chillhop music including a nightlife street in the middle of space where astronauts can visit.

Something your loop does as well

My loops character movement as good as this example as its very smooth and subtle however I could of moved my characters
body as well as the leg
Something the example does better

The light flare on the professional example is a lot better as it tracks the line replicating the movement of a neon light.
Whereas my example only flickers and I could of spent more time on the mask which covers the magma splodge.
How you would improve yours based on this
I would have spent more time making each magma splodge flicker so it looked like the light was passing through the
Planet.
Example 2 of 3
URL/link, image and description
https://youtu.be/k3WkJq478To

Created by Dr.bonkers inc including a futuristic world including natural things such as a sun and in contrast to that a
huge city in the middle of space.

Something your loop does as well

My loops use of perspective works as well as this professional example as they both Convey depth within the scene.

Something the example does better

The example includes a looping camera track which I defiantly wanted to include as this adds another dimension to the
scene and adds a separate story line.
How you would improve yours based on this
I Would add either a camera zoom or a looping pan which adds more into the scene.
Example 3 of 3
URL/link, image and description
https://youtu.be/8vOZYwsm8X0

Created by Lofi Geek including a floating train at a space train station, heading towards space.
Something your loop does as well
The flashing lights however the light flickers a lot quicker in the professional examples loop.

Something the example does better

The example defiantly makes the smoke/steam look a lot cleaner and more composited

How you would improve yours based on this

I would learn how to add smoke like this to make it look as smooth as the example and add it so it’s coming out of the
Chimney within my scene.

Results and reflection of your survey

Show evidence of your audience feedback and reflect on what it tells you.
Show evidence of your survey results here (screen grabs/graphs/urls/Youtube comments/other)
What patterns or trends did you notice from your audience feedback?
36% of answers liked the rock floating, this means that overall that aspect was greatly received. I think people liked the
motion tween because it looked realistic and looked like it could potentially be floating in space.

The majority of answers to the second question I presented liked the futuristic style, this conveys to me that the
Background image I chose highlighted my original intention of a contrast between futurism and normal life.

What did you learn from thinking about this?

I learnt from thinking about this that i can convey a mood or a vibe through my animation using things such as a colour
Pallet and things such as stop motions and motion tweens.
How might you make improvements to your work based on what you’ve learnt from your audience? Be specific
Learning from my feedback I now realise that I could have maybe added a different music track that was longer so I didn’t have
to fade out the audio every 30 seconds.

As well as this I believe that my animation would have been a lot better if I didn’t lose some of the files within adobe
Animate.

Conclusions on your audience feedback

Based on what you’ve learnt above, write about whether your feel your work is fit for your specific audience overall.
Remember to say why and prove it

I think my Animation fits well with my target audience ( 14+) I believe this because people can put this on in the
background and complete things such as school work or work in general. I have added a soundtrack which fits with the
futuristic vibe of the video but that I also relaxing. I know that my target audience like this track with my animation
because it got good feedback when completing the survey.

Another reason why I think my animation fits my target audience is that it mixes between realism and futurism therefore if
People prefer one to the other they have both within my animation.

Task 2/2: Reflect on your own skills, processes and personal development (U10:LO3_AC3.2)
Please answer ALL sections fully in order to pass this section. You can include screen grabs and links to help. This section is
about how you feel your creative abilities and processes have improved during this assignment. Answer all sections fully
with supporting images (including your own screen grabs: CMD+SHIFT+4), links and any other evidence you feel is relevant

Talk about three issues you had during production. These could be based on practical parts of the work, supporting tasks
such as research or even audience surveys.
One issue I faced during the production was I realised that the background couldn’t really have an alpha channel
1.
within it.
Another issue I encountered is that I ran out of time during production which meant I didn’t have enough time to
2.
stop motion a lightning bolt in
The biggest unresolvable issue I had was after I closed adobe animate and opened it again the next week all of my
3.
motion tweens were lost and I could not get them back.

How/to what degree were you able to resolve each issue?

1. I resolved this issue by deciding not to add an alpha channel as it would take away from the original animation.

I had to not include the stop motion because I would have not completed the animation without doing so
2. therefore, I took into consideration that I would rather complete the loop than concentrate my time poorly and
not get it finished, however if I was to do this again, I would manage my time better.
It was the last lesson I had to work on the animation therefore I could not resolve the issue and had to export my
3.
animation without the three tweens included

Write about at least three things which well during the whole process?
Talk about what you felt went particularly well about them.
The floating rock tween went very well and smoothly. All I had to do was cut out the background and then draw
1. round the existing rock. After that It was a simple motion tween. I think my audience liked the floating rock the
most out of all the movements in my animation.

2. I liked the texture of the house and the shape of it worked extremely well with the rock that it was sat on.

The swinging of the characters legs looks very realistic and I’m very happy how smooth it turned out. I feel the
3.
process went quick and had not many complications with the asset warp

And finally, write a small amount about what you enjoyed about the project which you could possibly use in future work
or assignments. This could be from research, design or your practical production process. Feel free to use screen grabs.
I defiantly could implement some of the techniques that I have used in this project. For example the research used could
include in my final major project.

I also really enjoyed the production process although animation is not my preferred subject I can implement being able
to work to schedule deadlines into future projects.
