Diego Cordero seems to be enjoying playing basketball with his brother, who seems a bit scared

when all of a sudden a police officer approaches them. The officer is carrying missing signs with
him with their faces on them.

Turns out 8 year old Diego got lost in a cruise along his older brother on a trip to Miami, they
were found many hours later by police on board.

Diego went on a cruise for the first time and followed his brother around the cruise, he was very
calm because he didn’t feel like he was lost

“it was thanksgiving break and we thought it was a great idea to got to a cruise and i had
actually never gone to a cruise before” Diego said “one of my brothers thought it was a good
idea to basically explore the whole cruise, and i didnt think that we were lost”

Diego wasn’t worried about being lost and was having fun while roaming around the cruise, he
only realized how serious the situation was until he was found

“What i did when i got lost was go to the arcade and play basketball and basically just like
explore the cruise, actually i was found on the basketball court” Diego said “2 guards came up
to us, and showed use both of our pictures and saying that we were missing, so they basically
escorted us to our family and i saw my mom cry, i didn't think it was a big deal”

Diego’s older brother Abelardo shows how they reunited with their family and how they had
mixed emotions when they were found

“when we got reunited with them our mom was sobbing” Abelardo said “everyone else had a
combination between a really relieved face and a face that indicated that we were in big trouble
since we were gone by a couple of hours”

His younger brother Benjamin and his family dealt with his brothers temporary disappearance
by looking for them in many places around the ship and asking the authorities for help

“First we looked for him in nearby places like restrooms, pools, and our room but he was
nowhere to be found.” Benjamin said “After not being able to find him we decided to ask the
authorities on the ship to find him and my other brother, we even asked them to print a missing
poster that included their name, picture, and phone number to contact us.”

“We were all relieved we had found them but at the same time we were mad at them for just
separating from the family because it could’ve been dangerous, but we were glad they made it
back safely” Benjamin said “We thanked the officers and they were grounded the rest of the trip”
