Conclusions

• Shelf-edge trajectories at repetitive unconformities and accommodation trends

on-shelf are most useful – i.e. magnitude / duration / hierarchical stacking
through time - in identifying the most probable sand-prone, lowstand slope and
basin floor fans

• Lowstand sediment point source(s) and incised valleys are key elements at each
unconformity; it is absolutely necessary to take a 3D perspective as opposed to
the 2D seismic line examples used in this talk for illustrating our methodology

• Ice-house (Taranaki, Nile Delta, Myanmar) and Green-house (Pletmos, West

Siberia , North Slope) worlds do not appear much different at face value

• North Slope, Alaska exploration activities will in future become much more
focused on lowstand, slope and basin floor fan, stratigraphic targets
