REFLECTION
During this class, I was able to lead the sight-reading and transition between each key of the district
audition piece, as well as run a brief sectional and rehearsal of my chosen piece, “In the Stillness of
Winter”. We split each of the 3 vocal parts into sectionals to review m.39 -end of the piece and I
worked with the Soprano 2’s and a few Alto 1’s who were singing S2 in 3 parts. I focused on them
learning their part independently, especially for the students who were learning the part for the first
time. We had time at the end of the sectional to review m.1-38, and students who had learned the part
already worked to be leaders in helping the students learning S2 for the first time. After sectionals, I
decided to run the piece through to see where the students were at in their learning and identify
individual parts or sections that need more focus for later rehearsals. After reflecting with Mrs. Morris
at the end of rehearsal, she offered a note that I should have given feedback after they ran through the
piece or told them what we can focus on for next time, so they know what the objectives/goals are
moving forward.

DIRFFERENTIATION OF INSTRUCTION
-Most of the SPED students that are in this class sing in the baritone section so in splitting the class for
sectionals, I kept the baritones in the choir room so students with a physical limitation did not have to
move rooms
-Rearranged class to sit/stand in a circle, so they can hear each other better

REFLECTION
In this rehearsal, I led the class through warm-ups, sight reading, and each key of the district audition
piece to review for any students auditioning. Then, we reviewed the new piece from last week, “Quiet
Little Town”, and learned the parts of a new section. After, I split the class for sectionals, where I
worked with the sopranos, Mrs. Morris worked with the baritones, and our accompanist Ms. Maddie,
worked with the altos. We worked on sections of our other two pieces, “Once Upon a December” and
“Winter Lullaby”, for around 15 mins. Then, we came back together as a class and ran the sections
worked on “Once Upon a December” in the few minutes we had left. Next time, we will run the
sections of “Winter Lullaby” that we didn’t have time for today, and continue working on learning the
newest piece.
