2. Be able to create their own patterns
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
 Pencil crayons
 Beads
 Pom poms
 Glue
 Pipe cleaner
 Worksheets
 Dry eraser markers
PREPARATION AND LOGISTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
 Regain attention by calling out if they can hear you to put their hands on their head
 Transitions: having little songs play to inform students to clean up and move to the next station

PROCEDURE

 Tell students they will be learning about core patterns today.
 Ask students if they remember what patterns are? 5 min
 Reminding students if needed that a pattern is a design that repeats.
Body Time
Slide show 1) Presenting what a core pattern is
2) Core pattern: “the smallest part of the pattern that

ABCD, AABB…

Activities There will be six learning centers for the students to 15 min

pattern core. (stations will be 5-6 minutes to keep hem
moving).

patterns (AB, ABC…) with a pipe cleaner acting as a
steam with and making the said core pattern with
beads on the stem
2) Is it a pattern: Where students are given different
patterns and they will section it as Yes if it is a patters
or not

different stencils provide to make the different core
patters
5) Apple patter: where students color code the different
apples to match the pattern
6) My pattern: Gives students a chance with a dry eraser
to create their own patterns while identifying the
