Grade 1: Demonstrate an awareness of personal space, general space, and boundaries while
Standard 1.1 moving in different directions and at high, medium, and low levels in space.
Grade 1: Change speeds in response to tempos, rhythms, and signals while traveling in straight,
Standard 1.3 curved, and zigzag pathways, using the following locomotor movements: walking,
running, leaping, hopping, jumping, galloping, sliding, and skipping.
Grade 1: Demonstrate, for increasing periods of time, a “v” sit position, a push-up position with
Standard 3.3 arms extended, and a squat position.

Standard 5.1

Type and Quantity of Equipment

Poly spots – 8 Nametags/Stickers – 8
Cones – 9 Speaker - 1
Hula hoops – 4

Assessment/s
After each activity and at conclusion teacher will ask students to demonstrate skills and reiterate cues
associated with each skill:

space stations:

“Who can raise their hand and tell me at station 6 did we do push-ups or sit-ups?”
“Who can raise their hand and tell me at station 1 did we squat and jump or throw a ball?”

Planet exploration:

“Who can raise their hand and tell me did we have 1 foot in the hula hoop or 2?”
“Who can raise their hand and tell me did we gallop or did we jump?”

Astronaut Yoga:

“Who can raise their hand and tell me their favorite yoga pose?” (Teacher will give students time to
respond, if students don’t respond then teacher will give options to choose using OR’s)
Physical Education Lesson Plan

At conclusion after teacher has checked in with each student with tap in tap out teacher will go over same
questions again to reinforce learning.

Safety Precautions
. Watch students and make sure don’t collide with . Make sure students do not jump into each other
each other and have enough space to move when performing jumping activity
. Make sure students are not using equipment
inappropriately (throwing or hitting others)

Behavioral Objectives
Motor 1. Students will perform jumping jacks with proper form (starting in a standing
position with hands at sides and legs straight, legs jump and split in different
directions as arms/hand meet at the top) with verbal and visual prompting for 1
minute.
2. Students will walk, run (arms in opposition, flight phase, knees to behind),
slide(feet facing to forward, one foot slides sideways, one foot leads and other
follows), gallop(feet facing direction, one foot leads and other follows, flight
phase) skip (arms move in opposition, step then hop, flight phase), tip-toe (front
of foot/toes one the ground, feet step up not dragging) with proper form around
hula hoops in a circle for 5/6 skills with verbal prompt and visual demonstration as
stated by APE teacher.
3. Students will perform Tree Pose/stretch holding stretch with proper form (hands
together arms straight above the head reaching as high as possible with one foot
flat and one foot with bent knee placed on the straight leg) for 15 seconds with
deep breathing stretch for with verbal prompting and visual demonstration as
stated by APE teacher.
Cognitive Students will state verbal cues for Station 1 Jump/squat (Bend knees, arms swing back,
arms swing forward and jump, land on two feet) for ¾ cues after verbal prompt from
teacher or aids when performing each individual skill after each activity and the end of
lesson.
Affective Students will interact with each other and give a high-five to a student that shares a hula
hoop with them after verbal prompt and visual demonstration 5/6 times.
