9165 – the new Dangerous Drug Act of 2002

This Act repealed Republic Act No. 6425, otherwise known as the Dangerous Drugs
Act of 1972, as amended, and providing funds for its implementation. Under this Act,
the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) remains as the policy-making and strategy-
formulating body in planning and formulation of policies and program on drug
prevention and control.

The Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972 is an important piece of legislation in the Philippines. The act provides a
framework for the government to prevent the abuse of dangerous drugs. It also mandates that the government provide
treatment and rehabilitation services to those who have become addicted to these drugs.

The Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972 is a law that has been in effect in the Philippine Republic since that year. This
law makes it illegal to not only manufacture dangerous drugs but also to sell them, possess them, or use them.
Alternatively referred to as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, this piece of law was enacted in 2002.

The enactment of this legislation was a response to the ever-increasing problem of substance abuse in the
Philippines, which prompted the government to take action to address the issue. As part of this act, there is a
requirement to establish the Dangerous Drugs Board in order to monitor and verify that the law is followed.

The Board is responsible for developing policies to discourage the use of potentially harmful substances and for
providing treatment and rehabilitation services to individuals who have developed an addiction to potentially harmful
substances. In addition, the Board is responsible for developing policies to discourage the use of potentially harmful
substances. As a further consequence of this act, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency was also founded. This agency
is accountable for enforcing the terms of the law that were enacted.

Because of the Philippines' long and difficult battle against the scourge of substance abuse, the Dangerous Drugs
Act is an important piece of legislation in that country. The act provides a framework for the government to prevent the
abuse of dangerous drugs and to provide treatment and rehabilitation services to those who have become addicted to
dangerous drugs.

Additionally, the act mandates the government to provide these services to those who are dependent on
dangerous drugs. In addition, the act makes it mandatory for the government to offer these treatments to individuals
who have a history of abusing potentially harmful substances.

In addition, the Act establishes the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency as the government agency in charge of
ensuring compliance with the legislation. This is yet another significant reason why the Act is so essential in its current
form. It is the responsibility of the Agency to investigate persons who break the law and to take legal action against
them. In addition, the Agency does its best to put a stop to the manufacturing of illegal narcotics, as well as their
distribution and consumption, as well as their possession.
