The question paper consists of 14 questions divided into 3 sections A, B, C. 2. All questions are compulsory. 3. Section A comprises of 6 questions of 2 marks each. Internal choice has been provided in two questions. 4. Section B comprises of 4 questions of 3 marks each. Internal choice has been provided in one question 5. Section C comprises of 4 questions of 4 marks each, An internal choice has been provided in one question. It contains two case study based questions. SECTION A | QNO SCORE 1 How many natural numbers are there between 200 and 500, = which are divisible by 7? OR How many terms of the A.P. 65, 60, 55, ... be taken so that their sum is zero? 2 |Find the value of p so that the quadratic equation px(x - 3)+9= 0 2 has two equal roots. 3 | Two concentric circles are of radii 7 cm and r cm respectively, 2. where r > 7. A chord of the larger circle, of length 48 cm, touches the smaller circle. Find the value of r. 4 |Find the number of solid spheres, each of diameter 6 cm that can 2 be made by melting a solid metal cylinder of height 45 cm and diameter 4 cm. 5 | Find the median of the data when it is given that mode = 35.3 2 and mean = 30.5. 6 | Solve the following for x: V2x2 + 7x + 5V2 OR 0 2 If x = 2/3 and x = -3 are roots of the quadratic equation ax? + 7x + b = 0, find the values of a and b. SECTION B 7 |The mean of the following frequency distribution is 62.8. Find the 3 missing frequency x. Page 1 of 3 Scanned with CamScanner Draw a line segment AB of length 8 cm. Taking A as centre, draw a circle of radius 4 cm and taking B as centre, draw another circle of radius 3 cm. Construct tangents to each circle from the centre of the other circle. Heights of students of class X are given in the following frequency distribution: Height (in om) Number of students Find the modal height. ‘A man standing on the deck of a ship, which is 10 m above water level, observes the angle of elevation of the top of a hill as 60° and the angle of depression of the base of hill as 30°. Find the distance of the hill from the ship and the height of the hill. OR The angle of elevation of an aeroplane from a point on the ground is 60°. After a flight of 30 seconds the angle of elevation becomes 30°. If the aeroplane is flying at a constant height of 3000V3 m, find the speed of the aeroplane ‘SECTION C Water Is flowing at the rate of 10 km/hour through a pipe of diameter 16 cm into a cuboidal tank of dimensions 22 m x 20 m x 16 m. How long will it take to fill the empty tank? Prove that the lengths of tangents drawn from an external point toa circle are equal. OR In the figure, O is the centre of a circle of radius 5 cm. Tis a point such that OT = 13 cm and OT intersects circle at E. If AB is a tangent to the circle at E, find the length of AB, where TP and TQ are two tangents to the circle. From a point between them on the road ,the angles of elevation of their tops are 45° and 60°. i.a)Find the distance of the point P from the base of the tree CD? 'b) Find the distance of the point P from the base of the tree AB? ji.a)Find the height of the tree AB? 'b)Find the distance of the straight line joining the top of the tree AB to the point P? Case Study-2 India is competitive manufacturing location due to the low cost of manpower and strong technical and engineering capabilities contributing to higher quality production runs. The production of TV sets in a factory increases uniformly by a fixed number every year. It produced 16000 sets in 6th year and 22600 in 9th year. zz é a i.a) Find the production during first year. b) Find the production during 8th year. iia) In which year, the production is Rs 29,200. b) Find the difference of the production during 7th year and 4th year.
