5. One digit of a two digit number is three times the other
digit. If we interchange the digits and result is added to the
original number we get 44. Find two digit number.
6. The length of a rectangle increased its breadth by 9 cm. If
the length and breadth each increased by 3 cm, the area of
the new rectangle will be increased by 84 cm2 of the given
rectangle. Find the length and breadth of the rectangle.
7. A group of students went on a picnic.Half of the students
were playing in the ground. Three-fourth of the rest were
cooking food and 9 students were making tent. Find the
number of students went on picnic.
8. The denominator of a rational number is 8 more than its
numerator. If the numerator is increased ny 17 and

9. A steamer goes downstream and covers the distance
between two points in 4 hours, While it covers the same
distance upstream in 5 hours. If the speed of the stream is 2
km/hr. find the speed of the steamer.
10. The distance between two stations is 425 km .Two
trains start simultaneously from these stations on parallel
tracks to cross each other. The speed of one of them is
greater than the other by 5 km/hr. If the distance between
them after 3 hours is 20 km, find the speed of the each
train.
