CHRIST (Deemed to be University)

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Global Student Leaders (SUSI GSL)
Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Global Student Leaders are intensive five-week academic
programs that provides undergraduate student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United
States through academic sessions balanced with leadership development, site visits, and cultural
activities.
Applicants from historically underserved and disadvantaged groups, including women, from minority
communities, and individuals with disabilities, and who have little or no international experience will
be given preference. Applications for the SUSI GSLs will be accepted between November 1-
December 15, 2022 and must have the support of the host institution.

Eligibility and Application Overview


Applicants must meet the following requirements:
 Be between the ages of 18 and 25 and have at least one semester left of college or university
 Demonstrate leadership through academic work, community involvement, and extracurricular
activities
 Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
 Have little or no prior travel or study experience in the United States
 Not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States
 Eligible to receive a United States J-1 visa

Office of International Affairs of CHRIST University, established in 1996, supports, initiates, and
facilitates internationalization efforts of the University such as student exchange, faculty exchange,
research and service collaboration, co-teaching, collaborative student projects, study abroad, and
collaboration with global professional bodies. The information provided on external scholarships and
fellowships is compiled based on publicly available information with an interest to help students with
such information.
The students who obtain the scholarships or fellowships for study abroad from external organizations
are requested to inform the Office of International Affairs of CHRIST University on
international.affairs@christuniversity.in with a copy of the letter for grant of scholarship/fellowship or
an email issued by the scholarship granting organization to help the Office of International Affairs and
the University with documentation. In case students come across scholarships or fellowships for study
internships or research abroad offered by Governments and credible organisations which would be of
help to fellow Christites, they are encouraged to share the details with the University

On completion of the application, you are requested to send a mail stating your confirmation of
application to international.affairs@christuniversity.in
