    The story of the past haunted me back.

    I got this story when i was a kid from my grandpa. He warned me about it. I don't know if the
    creature was called vampire, ghoul, dracula or whatever but they indeed drank blood. I think any
    blood—whether it is human blood or animal blood—is fine. Grandpa said the creature is alive. It
    has been 300 years since the creature was first sealed. It could not die, so it was sealed in a coffin
    in the middle of the lake. The coffin should not touch the ground, because if it touched the
    ground, the creature would wake up from their slumber. And if that happens, it would be a
    disaster for humanity.

    As a child who was easily frightened and easily lied to, i was really terrified of the story. I
    remember how long i cried when grandpa said that this creature would eat a small child who did
    not want to nap and eat their vegetables. But when i grew up, i realized that Grandpa just made
    up this story so that his scaredy cat granddaughter could finish her meals and then take a nap.
    Even i gradually forgot the story over time.

    Recently, i have been contacted by my grandpa, he is a shinto priest in my hometown. It was


    because three months ago a coffin was found stranded on the edge of the lake behind the Fushimi
    Shrine. The coffin was empty. I just laughed at it at first. But when i turned on the television,
    there was news that numerous people had mysteriously disappeared. Another news stated that an
    unidentified body was found with a large wound on their neck. I suddenly felt that feeling again.
    The familiar feeling of dread crawled back into my skin. An image flashed through my mind of a
    pale-skinned creature staring at me blankly. Showing a grin filled with sharp teeth and then it
    gaped. Then i snap out of it. Feeling confused and freaking out at the same time. What was that?
    I was imagining something weird out of nowhere. But why did it feel so real? All i could think of
    is, if the creature is indeed real, they are here somewhere. Hunting for someone to quench their
    bloodlust.
