marks each).

3. All answers must be handwritten on A-4 size white sheet (plain/ruled).

sheet.

Q.1 You are the section head of your department. A new batch of trainees has been assigned to
you. Explain to them the formal and informal channels of communication. You should
a) define the two channels;
b) give details of different structures of formal channel;
c) list out advantages and disadvantages of formal channels of communication. (25 Marks)

Q. 2 Due to the lockdown announced by the government, your company has been losing business.
Write an email to your manager suggesting a switch to e-commerce. Explain to him/her, all the
features and advantages of e-commerce. (25 Marks)

Q.3 What is the 7 Cs and 3 M approach to effective communication? Discuss the two respective
approaches in detail. (25 Marks)

Q. 4 Ms. Sonia has been working for the last five years as the Assistant Manager (Marketing) in
Technical Solutions. She is hard-working, sincere and reliable. But her boss, Mr. Nair, ignores her
and promotes a male junior to the post of Area Manager. Is this a case of gender discrimination?
Give reasons for your answer. Also give three suggestions to end gender-based discrimination at the
workplace. (25 Marks)
Q.5 You are Amrit/Amrita, Head of your area’s Public Health Centre. Experts say that mass
vaccination is required to control the spread of deadly COVID-19 virus. Write a report to be
submitted to the Health Ministry on the difficulties faced in carrying out the Vaccination drive in
your Area.

Q.6 (a) The HR Department of the CNB Bank has to notify the mandatory Covid-19 protocols to
the entire Staff. As Secretary, draft a circular giving details of all the safety measures to be followed
to prevent the spread of Covid19. (10 Marks)

(b) Your brother has to participate in a GD (Group Discussion), as part of the selection process, for
a business school. Write a letter to him giving relevant advice and winning tips on how to succeed
in a GD. (15 Marks)
