1.ARTIST:

I am, Kleopas Nghikefelwa, a local visual art activist. For the past 12 years, I have been
active in different non-profitable international, national and community Museum,
Heritage and art community projects. This helped me to gain good working experience in
working with local artists, art associations, art sponsors, art commissions, and the public
at large.

2. CONCEPTUAL IDEA:

The main idea is to invite about 10 local young unemployed artists to participate in the
special cultural event planned to take place at Pepperoni Restaurant in Green Namibia
park, Ongwediva town, from 18 march 2022 to 20 March 2022.

3.INSPIRATIONAL IDEA/CONCEPT

As an artist who have been working in the field of Namibia Museum and Heritage
development. I discover that many of our local youth they do not know well our
NAMIBIAN HISTORY. Even history is taught in school, many young people think that
History is a boring subject. Therefore, I came up with an idea to host an art event, of live
music and painting, that can teach and educate our local youth to remember their heritage
and where Namibian people came from in 1990 to be where we are here today in
2022.Above all this event is inspired by the history of Namibia independence. When
Namibia got independence, I was 8 years old. And still remember many joyful cultural
events, like music, dancing and converts, that took place during that time. Therefore, this
inspired me to plan an event that will educate, through art, our present youth to remember
where we, Namibia people came from in 1990.

Our aims;
1, to inspire and teach our local young people reimagine or learn where Namibia people
came from (1990), to be where we are here today (in 2022).
2. to promote a cultural life of live concerts and visual art activities in Ongwediva town.
2. to promote local artists with art talents.
3.to make the local youth and artists to be aware of arts as an important economic factor
in the economic life of Ongwediva community.
4. to create and promote a calendar for celebrating Cultural events and Art activities
during public holidays (Independence Day, Heroes day etc.) in Ongwediva town.
