1. Type of Technical Objects

This configuration setting enables to define the technical object types.
Each equipment and functional location can be assigned to technical object type. Technical object type
is mainly used to group the equipment of similar usage.
Grouping of equipment helps better reporting.
In H-young, below technical Object will be used.

2. Define Planner Groups/Maintenance Planner Group

This step allows you to define maintenance planner groups. Planner Groups must be defined
separately for maintenance planning plants. Depending on the size and structure of company, a
maintenance planning group may be an individual department (for central work preparation), a group of
skilled craftsmen or a workshop. Every piece of equipment and functional location can be allocated to a
maintenance planner group.

Planning Planner Name in SAP

Plant Group
1010 101 Plant Planner
1010 102 Production Planner
1010 103 Quarry Planner
1010 104 Project Planner
Naming Convention Logic

Planner group will be of three-character length and suggested to use number ranges from 100-999 or
alphanumeric for planner groups to accommodate all the departments’ areas in the respective
locations.

3. Define ABC Indicator

This step allows you to define ABC Indicators. These can be used in transactional data for
identifying the Fault recording criticality effect production, due to FL/Equipment fault.

ABC Indicator ABC Indicator Text

A High Critical
B Medium Critical
C Low Critical

Naming Convention Logic

ABC Indicator will be 1 character length either numerical or alphabetic.

4. Define Plant Section

In this step we define plant section. The plant section further subdivides the maintenance plant
from the point of view of production responsibility. The person responsible for the plant section is the
contact for coordination between production and maintenance teams. The plant section defined here
can be used for evaluation purposes. Every piece of equipment and functional location can be assigned
to a plant section. We can also specify a plant section when processing maintenance tasks.
Example: Plant Section key 3 character long

Planning Plant Plant Section Person Responsible Phone

1010 HEW Heavy Equipment Workshop
1010 HVT Heavy Vehicles and Trucks Workshop
1010 LVW Light Vehicles Workshop
1010 TYR Tyre Section.
1010 PNT Paint section.
1010 CUS Cushion making section.
1010 MCS Machine Shop
1010 PPA Preparation Area
1010 BDS Body Shop
1010 LTS Light Structure
1010 WLS Welding Structure
1010 RFS Reinforcement Steel

5. Location:
In this step we define location within Plant.

Location Description
HO Head Office
IP Industrial Plot
QRKT Quarry Katani
QRKD Quarry Kedong
Proj Project

6. Maintenance Plan Sort Field

Maintenance plan sort field are used to control different business processes for maintenance
planning. The functions for maintenance plans can be used, for example,
• To Schedule Maintenance Plan
• Standard Report to search Maintenance Plan

Maintenance Plan Sort Field Description

1010 Head Office
1020 Virtual Plant
1030 Industrial Plot
1040 Quarry Katani
1050 Quarry Kedong

7. Maintain Control Keys

Control keys are assigned to every work centre in the master data screen "Default values".Use
the control key of the operation to determine
• The business functions you want to carry out
• How you want to deal with the operation.

Control Key Control Key Description

PM01 Plant Maintenance – Internal

PM02 Plant Maintenance – External

PM03 Plant Maintenance – External Services

8. Maintenance Notification Types

In this section, you define the notification types and the basic functions connected to the
notification type. In this step, you define notification types.

7
Solution Design Document

SAP Plant Maintenance

Each notification type references a notification category and an origin. Notifications have the
category predefined on the basis of the origin.
You can define notification types for the following:

Notification Type Notification Description

M1 Maintenance Request

M2 Malfunction Report

M3 Predictive Maintenance Notification

M4 Calibration Maintenance Notification

9. Maintenance Order Types

Order type categorizes orders according to purpose.
The order type contains information which is necessary for managing orders. Order types are
client-specific. The same order type can be used in all controlling areas in one client.

Order Type Text

ZPM1 Preventive Maintenance

ZPM2 Breakdown Maintenance

ZPM3 Predictive Maintenance

ZPM4 Calibration Maintenance

10. Define Maintenance Activity types

Maintenance Activity Type is a key for the type of maintenance activity provided. Activities are
divided into repairs, regular activities, inspections and so on. In cost evaluations, for example, total
costs or number of orders for each technical object, you can classify data according to maintenance
activity type.
In this step, you determine the allowed maintenance activity types.
