Subject

Main boards which equip 9040 and 9042 printers have been modified due to the obsolescence of
one component on the Board. Some new references have been created replacing the previous
ones as follow:

The P/N A43632 has been replaced by P/N A51451 (Main Board - Single Jet - 1 Head)
The P/N A43633 has been replaced by P/N A51452 (Main Board - Bijet - 1 Head)
The P/N A43634 has been replaced by P/N A51453 (Main Board - Single Jet - 2 Heads)
The P/N A43635 has been replaced by P/N A51454 (Main Board - Bijet - 2 Heads)
The P/N A36684 has been replaced by P/N A51455 (Main board - for 9040S)

As for week 15/2018, these new main boards equip 9040 and 9042 printers. The 9040/9042
Firmware has been released for compatibilities purposes.
This firmware has been removed from SharePoint and replaced by a new version which solves a
critical issue of connectivity with CoLOS Software (Refer to TSSTC-5049).
Please, use the new version named “firmware_9042_J63_P63 & 9040_J63_P45” to update the installed
base and delete the previous firmware version.

To check if the printer has the good firmware version, go to Printer Preparation Menu >
Option > Versions and check if the versions displayed by the printer are the same to the ones
provided in the table below. Versions are different according to the Main board version.
If not! Download the firmware from SharePoint (Sharepoint Sources) and reinstall it.

Additionally, during firmware installation a pop-up is displayed and propose:

• To perform a fresh printer installation (overwrite settings),
• To update (keep current settings).

Click on Yes
Installation ok: Settings are not restored (Preference, horodating table, machine options are set to
default values). Messages and library are also not restored as well as counter for Machine power
on time and Ink circuit running time. Printing counter is saved.
Click on No
Installation ok: Customer settings are restored (Preference, horodating table, machine option).
Message and library are restored as well as counter for Machine power on time and Ink circuit
running time. Printing counter is saved

This new feature solves the technical Claim TSSTC-54.

Compatibility
This new firmware is compatible with all main board versions.
The old firmware is not compatible with new main board versions (ENM51xxx)

By using a wrong configuration « New CPU Boards - Old Firmware », the CPU will be blocked, a
CPU exchange will be mandatory using REN process.

Firmware developed specifically in the frame of OEM application and based on previous version
has been released, the list is provided below.

Logistic Aspect

Until the stocks are exhausted, spare parts (CPU boards) ENM43632, ENM43633, ENM43634,
ENM43635 and ENM36684 are still available for break fix on customer site. The new references are
available only for new printers.
